Hi, I'm Tim, an Australian Otaku interested in Japan and otaku culture.
I have studied Japanese for 6 years through university and self study, and find that Anime and otaku culture serves as the main source of my motivation for my study.
This is my otaku-ish room. I mainly collect bishoujo figures, light novels and manga. As I'm currently into visual novel games and Japanese video games, I am gradually building up a collection of games too. Currently, my favorite game is "Tears to Tiara" for the PS3.
I have over 100 figures in my collection. I don't only collect PVC figures but also build garage kits, and even am attempting to sculpt a full scratch figure. I find the Kotobukiya published "How to make figure" book very helpful.
Apart from figures, I also have a large collection of manga and light novels. I haven't properly counted all of them, but there are probably over 1000 volumes in my collection. I prefer reading the manga in Japanese in the published book form rather than on a PC screen, so I am always import them from Japan.
Considering there are no stores nearby that cater for figures, light novels and manga in Japanese, I almost always obtain my goods through online stores.
I started this collection in 2004, which was the time when I first went to Japan on as an exchange student. Since then, my room has ended up looking like this. (^_^;)
Outside Otaku hobbies, I also enjoy doing Karate and Juijitsu.
I write a blog in Japanese and English.
