Lovely dresses on your girls!! I am a girl and I have only had trouble with my dad and relatives with my girls being questionative, but other than that my boyfriend loves my girls! He thinks he's their dad :) Don't worry about others and your hobby. Theirs always love from friends who understand :-3

  I second that. All the friends I've made since I moved away from home don't care. Only my friends from High School (10 years ago) think I'm weird. Dad is indifferent. Mom has sewn a dress for one of my girls.

I never had a girl over at my place so I can't tell how they'd react XD But I prefer one that's into figures too.

My parents like it. Dad comments about the fact they got the face of a girl but the body of a grown women XD and mom just drools over the art of the figures.

I haven't had a girl over at my place either, so I'm in the same boat as NaitoNii. Then again, I'm not in the best position to acquire a Dollfie anyway (still have college to pay for). Still, there's always figures!

Overall, my parents are the conservative type. My mom doesn't quite understand why I've developed an interest in Japanese culture (particularly Hatsune Miku), but she does find it amusing for some reason. My dad doesn't seem to have much of an opinion on my interest in Japanese culture. As for other people, they don't really understand it (part of why I was unsure if I really wanted to pursue this and join in on these shenanigans). But I'm glad I found a supportive community like this!

I am a girl and I might have joined in on your poll. Sorry if I kind of skewed your data hehe ^^"

My family and significant other don't mind me taking up DD as a hobby. Mom is very supportive, dad only supportive because he sees this as an investment, and BF thinks they are creepy but will live with it since it's something I enjoy very much.

I started adopting girls mainly because of Figure.fm and Danny. I think like most of us started out collecting figures? I switched over to DD because they are beautiful and you can do so much more with them. I like the fact that it's a unique hobby and one where you can create a girl/figure/model that is not like any other.

Anyways, loved the little chat with Mio and Miku. Your girls are lovely and I hope the negative opinions/ thoughts of others (if you are getting any =O) won't discourage you from enjoying this wonderful hobby. ^^

  Your fine. It's all right ^_^! Yeah when i was talking to a lot of guys last year they would give looks like, "That's a big doll o_0" especially since I am more into SD size girls. Some find it creepy yet some find it cute. It is a very unique hobby! :D And I love it very much! Now I wonder how I could live with out it ^_^!
  
  Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed my girls having a bit of an R an R with you guys. The negative thoughts and opinions still come and go but since I have been in the hobby for quite some time. A while back somebody did a poll as to the ratio of male/female DD owners. As I recall, it came out roughly 50/50 on DD owner gender. When you figure guys like Wolfenriche (sp) who have a small army of DD's,this is not surprising... ^_^

  I was surprised myself. Because when I go to doll meets you expect a lot of girls but the last few I went to, 3-4 guys showed up O_O. I find it amazing ^_^ and really nice that guys have gotten into this hobby too.

As a girl, I think they're gorgeous. Every time I see people post their daughters, motivates me to get one but they're expensive. Though tbh some are a bit creepy but that's only a handful. Almost 95% that are posted on figure.fm are cute.

If I dated a guy who had one I wouldn't think he's weird, I would just be jealous because they're so freaking adorable!!!!

I decided to go into dolls as shoots around amazed me, especially Azure's ones.

Currently I still waiting for my DD Saber to arrive. But when my Azone 1/6 arrives, most people gives me a wired look...but my mom and friends get used to it after looking at what I did with her ^_^ now some of my friends look forward her appearance during some outdoor photo shooting.

A side note, adopting a daughter is just a start, you will be spending MUCH more when it comes to her cloths. My little Mia already spent more than what I wear for the whole year ^_^|||

  Did you get the Saber Extra? ^_^ And I ADORE your cute 1/6 Azone girl! I have been curious on getting one myself. I remember, the first one I saw is the one I still want to this day. Though sadly she is very hard to find T_T boo.
  
  It really is >_> they are almost like children X_X you have to constantly buy them clothes, then buy equipment like a camera if you don't have one already for some beautiful photos. Then accessories, then shoes, wigs, and then some times things happen to them (like staining X_X) which can a hassle. It's a big chore sometimes XD. But an awesome one ^_^!

    My experience with Azone is the same as you. Their dolls are cute, but when I saw Mia I just feel she is the one (Love at first sight? lol). Sadly her sch uniform version quite impossible to obtain. But luckily Azone after released Mia's Sunday ver. Which till today I am still very happy with her. She really brought a lot of great memories in my photo shoots =)
    
    It is true they really feel like children, even thought I don't change her cloths often, but I still keep my eye open for new cloths (more than myself). Keeping her hair tidy and clean...but when I review my photos, I still feel very much worth it. And when others praise her photo shoots (especially non doll-collectors) I really do feel happy about it ^_^

Haha funny enough, I met my boyfriend here! I saw his daughter, and we decided to meet up at my gaming club so I can see a dollfie in real life. We decided to take her out to a park to take pictures, that was our first date. And now we're going to celebrate our first year anniversary in April, and we have four girls together. Dollfies actually brought us together, and i'm very thankful for it. <3

For me, my answer to Question 1 is the my family is indifferent and friends aren't involved in that world. My family doesn't care on who or what I spend my money on. As for friends, they're actually segregated by likes/hobbies and they generally don't intermingle. I have my car/motorcycle friends, I have sword friends and etc. Haven't had a chance to check out a doll meet but I plan to check one out one day for shits and giggles.

Question 2 is probably closer to option 4. The honest and sad truth is that I really have no time to date at the moment. Too many hobbies to juggle to the point where it would be unfair to a significant other. That phase of my life is sort of winding down but ... Yeah.

And for Question 3, the answer is not really "here" but Danny Choo's main site. His pictures got me to cave in and purchase figures way back when. After he started posting about Dollfies, funds were repurposed from the figures pool. :P Admittedly, I think the last two lottery entries were because of figure.fm.

Currently, my horde consists of Mari, Saber Lily, Airy and was just notified that Haruka will be on her way in June.

What I should do is take pictures. One of these days ...

  Like you, it was Danny's main site where I first started seeing Dollfies, but it was here that I slowly got hooked on getting one... ( now 2 with one a WIP) I was buying Figmas until the pricing got stupid.. Two years ago the Canadian retail price was about $35.00 or so, now they are into the $65.00 to $75.00 range, so I stopped buying them and now diverting the monies to the DD brigade.. ^_^

My family doesn't seem to mind my interest in this stuff but then again they dont like that im spending my money on it, They would say " Why are you wasting your money on this stuff!?" For me i ignore there comments as i love this hobby tho some of my relatives like it. So im basically alone here ^_^;; Also lovely daughters you have!!
