Saturday Lol Figs #12
The history of my obsession on anime figures (part 2)
Continuing from my last week's post, this week I'm going to introduce you to my other figure-related obsession. I'm talking about plushies (plush toys).
Most people seldom go for plushies because they are still pretty much a rarity in anime collectibles. After all plushies is not always about anime (stuffed animals anyone? That is why most people would tend to forget that there are anime plushies out there too.
The problem with plushies is that because of their "made for hugging" nature they're usually not for display only. Besides, unlike regular figures/nendos, plushies have no interchangeable part, making it impossible for them to 'perform' for my lolfigs project. However that doesn't stop me to love them.
Characters possible for plushies are quite limited as well because they usually can have only one or two style of poses (mostly in sitting position). Not to mention with many anime characters having 'extraordinary' or even "physics-defying" hairstyle/outfit which would make the plushie-making process sometimes impossible.
That explains why I don't put much hope in getting anime plushies because I know I'd be disappointed of their unavailability most of the time. Currently the plushies I've confirmed of their existence, and I wanted to get so badly are Cirno, Hatsune Miku, Haruhi, Sena Kashiwazaki and all Madoka Magica characters. Sorry but I'm not going to post their pics here because as I've explained above, plushies aren't suited for lolfigs. However you may enjoy the actual non-plushie lolfigs below.
