Washinomiya "Lucky Star" Shrine
Visited the Washinomiya Shrine as my otaku pilgrimage during my Japan trip late last month. Those who have watched Lucky Star would probably know that this is the shrine where the Hiiragi sisters are supposed to worked at as miko.
Initially had wanted to reach there early to avoid shooting in bright sunlight but in the end it took quite a while to reach there as I mistakenly took the wrong train that was going in the opposite direction and also got a bit lost while trying to find the shrine. Nonetheless I still managed to find my way there, had a nice stroll around the area and had fun looking at the fantastic artwork on the Ema plaques displayed there.
On my way there in the morning. Took the wrong train though.
Directions to the shrine posted at Washinomiya Station, but I somehow still got lost trying to find the shrine.
Lots of these hanging from the street lamps on the way to the shrine.
Shrine entrance as appeared in the Lucky Star opening.
The main hall.
Kindergarten kids' field trip to the shrine.
Lots of superb artwork here.
Ika-musume de geso!
Yukarin fan.
Drawing inspired by Ano Natsu.
Tsukasa shocked to find out that Kyubey has the same voice as her sister.
Bought some of these as souvenirs.
Real life miko found!
