Cosplay: Madara Uchiha's Costume (80% complete)
Hi, its been a while since my last post about my room.
I'll be attending an anime convention (ACEN) in 2 days, gonna be cosplaying as Madara Uchicha from the Naruto series and here are some pictures of me in the process of making the costume. Hopefully I can get it done in time.
Before, I begin I would like to mention that I'm not a pro at cosplay. I had been amateur-ly cosplay since 2008. A friend got me into it, and we go as a group for 3 day renting a room at a hotel near the convention.
2008: Zack Fair from "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7"
2009: Zack Fair from "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7" (again)
2010: Demyx from "Kingdom Hearts: Organization XIII"
2011: fail to finish costume
My point is, 2012 will be my last year cosplaying (because of personal reason) and I want to this to be good as possible.

amateur blue print: size of plates
amateur blue print: size of plates. making this out of 22 gauge stainless sheet. after plates are made, i also made the same out of card board boxes. i glue those two material together to add extra layer. also, note: my waist is actually 30", i added a few inches for the extra layer and clothes i'll be wearing.
amateur blue print: shoulder piece
amateur blue print: shoulder piece
used power sander to smoothing out the edge and corner to prevent it from cutting self when wearing. once card board is glued to the stainless steel material, i silicon the edges for extra protection.
spot welder machine
i use this to weld the two piece together for the shoulder part, its called spot welder machine
red spray paint and coating
paint on stainless steel will come off, so i use coating spray recommended by a worker from home depot to prevent it from happening.
the most time consuming part is waiting for the paint to dry
chest and back plates
chest and back plates

tool i use for cutting the pipe
at jo-ann fabric, using this material for the cover waist. i like the crackle-skin-like design, it help differentiate the blackness i'll be wearing.
i wanted to post a step by step on how to make the armor instead, but... time isn't on my side. maybe next time... ^^
i also want to apologize for the bad quality of the picture, its was taken by my ipod touch.
to be continue...
