ToyCon 2014: The 13th Philippines Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2014
Hello everyone, long time no see (read)!
I've been pretty busy with life, so I wasn't able to really update my things here, but I am somewhat bac
Anyways, here is my coverage of this year's Toy Con held at SM MegaMall here in the Philippines. Was not able to attend the first two days due to life, but was able to attend on the third day, so here is my coverage of that.
Just a fun fact: apparently the amount of people who attended on the second day was a whooping 13K people (that being a partial count). Toy Con is going so strong.
Danny-san, I perfectly understand why you weren't able to come. With the launch of the SmartDoll and your other projects, your schedule must have been jam packed and you with the lack of sleep.
I need a 1/6th Charlie Chaplin in my life.
This is a Toy Con, so Western figures have a very very strong presence here, but that is not to the the opposite could be said.
Any pique your interest?
Not sure if Kratos is mad or sad.
Hubbyte Toy Store
Was finally able to meet Kixkillradio!
She was at Hubbyte selling some of her Japanese style tables, and they really great in terms of look and quality. Bought a pin from her for added measure.
One of the stalls was demo-ing the Oculus Rift, and being a person who followed its development for quite sometime, it was about time I tried it.
The demo the guy is using in the picture is a Miku dance demo (Miku, Gumi and Sonic).
I opted for something that would give me nausea or something. Nothing happened to me as an after effect.
NECA Gipsy Danger that was customized.
Oppai mousepad for those who need support.
They are both a figure display and sell group. Awesome people.
You think Steam sales are bad?
Isobella Kumas <3
ThreeA figures cost a ton of money per.
Some local toys.
AR Card thing.
Where I get 80% of everything in my collection. They are the official distributors of a lot of things (long to list), and they are still a minor sponsor for odd reasons.
GreatToy's latest partner: Hobby Japan
Rurouni Kenshin booth with costumes.
Someone I know and care for nearly squealed here.
Rurouni Kenshin has always had a strong following here in the country ever since the anime first aired (it was locally known as Samurai X if I am not mistaken).
Rurouni Kenshin 2 - The Great Kyoto Fire will be showing in cinemas around the country pretty soon.
Do I need to explain?
I admire her work a lot and respect her, but I just don't like her. :/
One of the best stores to look for comics.
Alternative of the other stores. Awesome people also.
World of Tanks Booth
Ah World of Tanks. My WN8, <3.
IMHO, they should have also capitalized on Girls und Panzer (like what they are doing in Japan) during the event for an even greater turn out.
Watching the Wargaming League Asia Finals
Lots of close battles and drama, but PVP Super Friends takes top place and will be going to Korea (or Japan, not yet final apparently) for the Global Wargaming League.
PVP SF is currently the most successful e-sport team to hail from the Philippines.
God among men.
Local comic peeps.
Big Hulk from Planet Hulk statue.
A shop selling bears.
Another awesome place.
ToyCon 2014 loot.
Ignore Snow Miku and Madoka, just used them to give a feel to the table I got from kixkillradio ^_^
Got another Musashi from a Weiss Schwarz booster pack.
