This is my photo coverage of FanimeCon 2016. Taking place during the Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29, 2017, it's a con by fans, for fans of Japanese pop culture and beyond.
This is the first time I really had a whack at post processing my photos via Adobe Lightroom. Before LR I'd leave things "natural", but most of the time they just didn't look as good as I remember. I originally thought that doing post work would be some cheat for myself if the photo wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but later down the line realized that my camera also had it's limitations in what I wanted it to show. Post processing was the only way to bring some more life back to the photo that I imagined when I took the photo in that moment. I didn't do too much editing besides using Auto Tone and Dehaze and adding a my logo as a watermark.
All of my photos taken from this year's FanimeCon can be found at my Flickr set FanimeCon 2017
There's always some sort of theme that runs in the con. This year's was magic, next year's theme will be "Gaming".
