GM GN-X Completed

Posted by GameraBaenre [www]

Just finished this kit tonight. Pretty much built right out of the box with some very minor mods. The engine was detailed with some metal beads. The GN drive lights up using the LEDS from the MG Exia, but the original green LEDs were cut and blue LEDs were soldered in their place; and the beam sabers were cut and glued together for a dual saber. More details are here: http://gamerabaenre.com/?p=1029 Comments and critique always welcomed!

Nope. The paint and color used for the metallic blue is Finisher's metallic indigo. I sprayed it over a white base coat, so no candy work here. Just a lot of gloss over the metallic indigo.

Could be either. I have two corgi's that like leaving hair all over the damn place. Dust is a good possibility as the parts have been sitting for a little bit while the clear cured. I had a brush that I used to try dusting off the kit when I saw dust/hair while I was taking pictures, so I could have easily missed several spots :D

should take shots of that with a darker background, the white parts with the white background doesnt do it justice. with some pics i could see, you did an outstanding job with the paintjob. do like the glossy metallic blue. also, are those your custom decals coz if so, they are supurb :)

Decals are from Samueldecal.com Not so much custom, but they didn't come with the kit. I like using water slide decals over the dry transfers and stickers. Although I did like some of the dry transfers that came with the kit - I opted to stick with the ones I grabbed from samueldecal.

Shiny GN-X is shiny. Under normal circumstance, I'd say that I'm not a fan of the glossy/metallic finish, but I like how you pulled it off here. Very Spiffy.

The gloss was Mr Super Clear Gloss, sprayed directly over Finisher's metallic indigo. All lacquer based products :D

Nice work, I really like the blue on the model. I may look into getting this one after all.

I used to be that way too. But I've grown to appreciate the "race car" look of the gloss especially with decals. I used to only build things with a flat finish. This time, three styles, the white is flat, the internals and metallics are semi gloss, and only the blue is gloss :D
