Kotobukiya's AC plamo
So, today I got a visit from a friendly postman who shoved a packet in my hands. When I opened it, I found this beauty:

It's my first ever Armored Core plamo made by Kotobukiya. RX-78 seems perplexed at the image of never before seen type of mobile suit.
One thing is for sure, it's not Zaku..
Anyway, Armored Core is a series of mecha games for multiple gaming platform. The main feature in AC series is the ability to assemble your own mech (which is called NEXT in the newest title AC4/forAnswer) So, with me being a fan of AC series and gunpla's. I just had get one of them AC plamo.
Another thing is, these Variable Infinity series AC model kits has a cool feature: All parts of the model (limbs, head, weapons) are interchangeable. So, it's possible to take parts from other AC plamo and make your own unique AC! Although you need to buy another AC model kits for that though :D

The first thing that caught my attention when I checked out the contents of the box (BTW, the box is quite bigger then I thought!) is that the weapons are molded in only one color! So that means one would have to paint some parts of this model to make it look somewhat decent.

And the manual. The instructions are quite similar to Bandai plamo stuffs.
So, I guess I'll start the building next week or so. I'm pretty excited right now! It's like I'm going to build my first MG! Well, I'll be sure to post the result when I'm done with it!
One thing though, some people says that Bandai model kits > Kotobukiya model kits. Are there any of you guys who can testify to this?
Also, anyone of you fellas who have built an AC plamo? Please let me know!

I say brace yourself for the headache of building that beast. I've gone through 2 AC kits and each took at least a week to build with minimal painting and detailing.
How were the results though?
By my standards, they turned out OK, but I think I could've done better. Which reminds me, I'm neglecting my Gunpla kits.
Thanks for the heads up! Wow, I didn't thought they would be tougher to build than an MG! I actually just skimmed the manual and thought "Meh", but now I've heard it.
BTW, what made the AC kits hard to build? Just wanna know so I can pay extra attention. Also, did you use any cement in building the kits?
Damn, it's been a while since I've bought one of these. As long as you're an experienced gunpla builder, this shouldn't be too hard to build since there's no inner frame. Alot of the parts are thin and fragile, but when finished the kit barely needs any painting. Just get some tweezers for the eyepiece.
Even though this kit's nice, I find the Lineark Whiteglint to be the best-looking one out there. I highly reccomend it to be your next kit if you're lucky enough to find it.
I want to buy AC plamo, but sometimes I have to think more than ten times to buy it.
First is of course the price. I never have AC plamo before, and have lack information about them, so I have some trouble in saving up for them.
Second is, I'm afraid when I got them, it'll be like building up Gundam plamo...
The MG is fine, but the HG usually only took me a day. 2-3 hours for the most, maybe.
The MG took me more. Around 5 hours.
But I don't know if the AC plamo could take more time.
Well, for me, the longer I could take in building a plamo, the more the joy~
oh, the tellus..:D how much was it?
i can't find that here in my country..^^' AC models are awesome too, though most of them require a lot of painting,.^^' i wanted to get the white glint but it's so expensive.XD
it was about 5600 yen in total with shipping, so the kit itself was like, 4000 yen. I got it from rainbowten.co.jp.
still need to get my first AC Kit, but im waiting for the Rayleonard 03-AALIYAH Unsung, the other one i want is Interior Union Y01-Tellus
Nice aquisition! If you had the nine ball, I'd squee like a girl..
