Macro photography

Finally stopped procrastinating and built my DIY photobooth the other day.. So what do you think of the photos? Comments and such are appreciated. Btw.. I'm using a Canon Powershot A590 IS. And if I'm not mistaken this is considered as macro photos right?
PS: Do comment ABOUT the photos and NOT the gunpla.. This is a work in progress so you can't expect much :p

Pose is terrible, but photo quality is very decent.
The best the Full Armor ZZ could do without an action base is stand there..
Even then, ZZ-san looks more like it's tired and pissed than just "stand there"...
Oh well, enough nitpicking. The shot with the arms looks the best imo.
Here's the thing.. I'm asking opinions about the picture quality and not the gunpla
nice photo..it's clean too..
To me, it looks like there's a good amount of noise, and the image isn't as sharp as it should be to be considered macro...
Photobooth wise, it looks like it's performing well. I'm not sure if you're taking shots off center, or if the lighting is a bit off, but the shadows being casted from picture to picture seem a bit off. Some pics show a stronger light from the left, some from the right.
Overall though, it looks good. But if you can, you might want to set the camera to ISO 80 (if you haven't already)to reduce noise... And you might want to set the focus to manual to see if you can't get the shots a bit sharper. It's not bad given you're using a compact, but it could be better too.
The ISO is already at 80 (the lowest) and yes I was taking shots from different angles (thus the uneven lighting) and finally.. I did forget to use the manual focus xD
I'm amazed you figure things out right off the bat.. :3
I was just listing off things I tend to try to remember when I take pics myself. Plus a quick glance at your camera's options to see if anything I could think of would apply. IMO, auto focus tends to be a bit weird sometimes, and can act rather vaguely. That's not to say manual focus can't be a whole other batch of fun, but I've found that at least in manual mode, you get to find out what you messed up at, rather than just go, "my camera sucks" which admittedly does happen to be the case at times...
Glad my observations was productive though. It's always a treat for me when I figure out what I'm doing wrong with my photography.
BTW, if you find your shots are giving you bad field of depth(the ol' bokeh effect IIRC), up the aperature(you'll probably have to do this is manual mode), then up the exposure time(as higher aperature=darker shots). You'll need a tripod as the exposure times will pick up any shake in your hands, you you'll be able to get sharper shots with more of the model/figure in focus that way.
Hoping this will be helpful as well... Good luck playing with the camera eh?
I usually would use the manual focus but got excited during that session coz of the possibilities the photobooth brings xD
Got the aperature/exposure covered and yes I do use a tripod whenever mostly. Thanks for the reminders :3
Looks pretty good. White always makes a nice "Neutral" background. I think you did a great job there.
o.O
Pretty much.. Chose a white background coz it lets the light bounce around the whole photobooth more effectively
Good pictures.. But what MS is this? FAZZ?
It's the Full Armor ZZ, don't mistake it for the FAZZ.. The MG FAZZ could transform while the one I won can't xD
I wish they'd re-release this or turn it into a ver 2.0.
As for the photo booth, seems like it's doing it's job. Little more tweaking as Maqywhaq already pointed out. otherwise, big improvement for your previous photos.
And here I thought you were trollin' from the dc blurbs O__O
Yeah Maqywhaq pretty much nailed it and yes the pics aren't grainy no more :3
a lot better than what i could do. im afraid i cant really offer much opinion. i can has no photo skills =w=
Photography is pretty much a hobby to me like building plamo.. So yeah xD
Lightbox looks good enough for me. You should've taken a shot of the box itself. ^^
For gunpla photos, I think its fine.
Yeah would take a picture of the box itself sometime..
the light box is good but i suggest use a dark background for light models, and light background for dark models wats the appreture settings on ur camera? did ya use tripod? and the last pic seems kinda blurry remember macro shots is not all about close ups and extreme close up its all about making the small stuffs bigger well tats my 10 cents.......
PS details details details dont forget
mkay
arein, you take better photos then i do. all i got is a 10.2 MP samsung camera, but i guess if i fiddle around with the setting more, i could take better shots. keep it up man
I only got a point and shoot as well.. xD
just something i was pretty curious. the lightbox was, imo, supposed to even the lighting. i noticed that there were some parts of the background where light stands out the most. is it safe to assume that you put the light behind the box?, or something else happened?
and you use a point and shoot? nice. i share the same sentiment with you.
but i'm amazed you overcame the procrastination of doing a lightbox. im still in the "fighting it" phase.
just a bit more of playing with the box, and i bet you could produce photos twice as better as this. goodluck though!
