Canaan Vs. ????
When I first saw the pre-release press photos of GSC's 1/8 Canaan I was so struck by it I immediately signed up for the pre-order. Which is out of character for me considering I'd not seen the show and was unfamiliar with the character. (Of course in the interim I have made my self familiar.) She just arrived this last week (slight shipping problem) and I am glad to say I am quite pleased.
I've been taking pictures for the last couple days, and here's the results. ^_^
Even hardcore-thug Yotsuba is kawaii ^_^
That's a lens pouch Yotsuba is standing on, and it was very tricky to get her to stand there.
Im slightly disappointed i wasn't able to pose Aegis very well for this one -_-, usually her posed turn out much better .
Canaan's shoulder blades and back are just astonishing.

This is where things start to get experimental.
You don't really want to know what horrible, indecent things I did to the color curves to get that effect. lets just say "reciprocating asymptotes"

Thanks! tho i didn't do very much for the lighting really. its all lit with a combination of the 4 recessed lights in the rooms ceiling, my TV, and a LED penlight.
it took me a try or two to get the peg in as well. ^_^;

Those seamlines on the hair are terrible considering the price of the AF.
GSC should spend more on QC considering how much their figures cost...

Yeah, i have to admit, the top of the head is kinda disappointing. im just trying to convince myself she just has "layered" hair style.
Canon T1i (i almost typed "Canaan T1i") I used 2 different lenses total. the 18-55 kit lens, and a 50mm F1.8 lens for the ones with a really short DOF. a lot of those last pictures had exposure times well over 30seconds.

These pictures are great. The pictures of her back are outstanding. She has such good details. And her pose is fantastic.

Canceled my Canaan pre-order due to budget reasons since she came out close to a few other releases. Am regretting that now.

oh? why not? the "interesting" stuff is either lit by the TV or a LED pen light over long exposures (30-45 seconds) in an other wise dark room. a little experiment goes a long way.
No LED stuff and no tripod. ^ ^;
LED keychain cost like $2. tripod.... bleh, just need a pile of books.
