Tokyo april hanami trip 2010
Konnichiwa minna-san! I just wanted to share with you a few of the experiences I had 2 weeks ago when I was still in Tokyo. It was my third time going to the Land of the rising sun but it was the first time I was going with a friend. I must say that it was a pretty good experience and that I was pretty amazed to finally see some sakuras up close and personnel. I'll share a few pictures with you guys. I hope you like them! Enjoy! I had to re-size some of the pictures because they took too much space to be uploaded. All of the shots where taken with the Lumix LX-3

This is from the observatory of the ''Tocho'' building. (Tokyo Metropolitan Government building) This is my favorite building of Tokyo and mostly the entire planet. It has so much meaning for me, it's hard to describe.

This was the first plane we took to go to Newark before taking the Boeing 777 for Japan. It was the first time I took a small plane like that and a non-turbine jet engine plane.

Some pics from the plane.

New York New York!

First meal in the 777 going to Japan. Taste wasn't so bad, But the food we got when we came back tasted better.

The Alaskan mountains.

The Japanese cost! Yokoso Nippon!!

The most recent N'Ex train. Started service last march. We saw loads of sakura trees everywhere while on board that very train.

Part of the hotel lobby. I really like the Shinjuku Sunroute plaza. It was my third time there.

We had a ramen shop just out of our hotel. Tasted amazingly good too! We ate at least one meal a day there.

The main Shinjuku JR station entrance. Took the Yamanote line everyday.

we can see the Docomo clock tower in the background.

This is the entrance of Kabukicho in Shinjuku. Mostly known as the ''Red light district'' of Tokyo. SOme of you might know this place as ''Kamurocho'' in the Yakuza games. It was really nice to see some advertising on the ''Donkichot'' (spelling??) mart for Yakuza 4 (Ryu ga no gotoku 4) that came out last march! A lot of shops, restaurants and architecture are the same in the Yakuza games.

It's kinda nice to be able to go up 243 meters for free and have a really nice view of Tokyo, day and night.(closes at 11h30pm)

Going to Tokyo tower and passed by the Zojoji temple to take some snaps and get some quiet peaceful time.

Some macro shot of white sakuras.

The first sakura tree we saw up-close were these next to Akihabara station.

Part of out loot after 2 days in Tokyo.

Ma, oiishi!! Ramen to gyoza wa dai-suki desu!!

Grendizer GO!!

Well, that's it for now folks. I'll post more pics in another post soon! Ki o tsukete douzo minna-san!

Some delicious katsu chicken and fish.

''Don quijote'' discount mart in Kabukicho, Shinjuku with a Yakuza 4 (Ryu ga no gotoku 4) advertiser.

Shinjuku at night.

The moon over Shinjuku.

Love the photos! Can't wait to visit Japan myself.
I wish you get to go there. It's an amazing experience.
reminded me of some mecha but i forgot which anime
Nice pics! I like the Sunroute too and have stayed there twice, dangerously close to Krispy Kreme for morning treats :)
Yes the Sunroute is very close to many Tokyo delights!! The morning walk to Krispy Kreme ads to the fun too with it's overpass walk on some of the Shinjuku station tracks. Really well placed hotel.
I love your pictures - especially the night time images of the high rise buildings! I still have yet to go but this adds to the motivation!
I can see youuuuu :P
Such a small plane. Very cool looking though.
Really such a beautiful place.
Lots of great photos. Good job. ^^
Thanks! Tokyo is such a beautiful city!
Feels like there is a massive day-night transition here
Have to agree with this lol.
The daylight is barely able to get to the ground... lol
Great pics! I'm in Tokyo right now and want to get some good night shots from Tokyo Tower and the Shinjuku Govt building. Tokyo at night is amazing!
Yes definitely! Can't wait to get back myself. Be sure not to forget to go to Roppongi hills and head over to the Mori tower to get very good views of the city too. You can get great angles of the Tokyo tower at night. It was sad that the north tower of the ''Tocho'' building was closed the night I went. Would have to get some night shots of the angles from there and get my hotel too!
Wow glad to see you got some old school games. And you really need to get use to that Airplane food, but they do serve good stuff sometimes.
Bombardier Dash-8 Q-400 ^........
Yes! A really nice airplane experience. Would gladly fly with this plane again!
4h20AM... was very tired. The moon was shining and I was shaking so sorry for OOF or dodgy pic. Even fogot to zoom in a bit...
