ZGMF -X20A Strike Freedom Gundam
Still new here on Figure.Fm, but still amazed at so many attributes everyone adds on to there kits. This would be my second post here and I wanted to contribute my MG Strike Freedom that I completed.
ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam “Full-Burst Mode”
Tools
- 1x – Strike Freedom Gundam “Full-Burst Mode” – Gunpla Kit
- 2x – Gundam Marker Fine Point
- 1x – Gundam Marker Seed Destiny Set
- 1x – Multi Purpose Black Spray Paint
- 1x – Multi Purpose Gold Spray Paint
*Changes*
- I noticed that Strike Freedom in the animation is presented in Black coloring around its Torso Unit as well as the Wing Unit, but the runners come out in a dark navy blue color, so I decided to go ahead and spray paint the runners black.
- Same reason above, Strike Freedom has gold parts for its attributes but some runners in the kit that make the exoskeleton are almost a bronze color, so I went ahead and sprayed the runners a gold color.
- Other than the changes, I built the kit, ran panel lines through the entire model, and used wires to create the scenes in the animation where Strike Freedom uses the Super Dragoon system.
(Any comments on improvement are gladly welcomed)
- I’m still a novice builder not the best, but I build for the fun of building something that makes you happy, not the best photographer either and I do apologize to anyone that doesn’t like what they see here. ~ NiteSeeker

*Screwed up on the add note part, what I meant was that it has so much details that even the smallest pens *can't even reach*

- This picture best describes the Navy Blue scheme, before the spray change. In the photo Freedom Gundam's torso is Navy Blue which was the same color on Strike Freedom's Torso when opening the kit. I disliked this because without the change both models would look nearly look the same.

It's kind of hard to see but, the entire unit has panel lines and to be honest, Strike Freedom has a lot of details put in it that even the smallest pens can reach
wow, dindt know the inner frame of the strike freedom look so thin. without its armor, it looks horrible. overall not a bad kit once you detail the thing
Actually the wings sent a chill down my spine, but i got used to it...
- Wolfman-X - I agree, I felt pretty skeptical when building the inner frame and how slim it was but had massive amounts of detail, this kit was quite different from what I built previously - for Strike Freedom the leg units have a peg from the actual leg to a hollow joint through the waist, but normally I would see pegs from the waist to attach the circular bearings from the leg units.
- EXkurogane - I built a No Grade 1/100 Strike Freedom before and likewise the Wing Units disappointed me on how long and thin they were, but following up with this kit the the Wing Unit isn't too bad considering they added the gold parts and extended their articulation.
clean build
Thank You, Looking forward to contributing more later on in the future.

Filling the Vulcan with panel-line would make it look better; it needs more depth.
Thank You Pointblank, I managed some time to touch up on the Vulcan's and posted the picture (I painted it grey, because I was following the animated look of Strike Freedom, but I do understand if people painted it gold/yellow to follow the kits distinct look
what kind of gold paint you used?
I used a really generic brand called Krylon - Brilliant Gold, but to make it easier - I've seen the same Gold scheme with Tamiya TS-21
Looks really clean. I like that picture of the SF with the dragoons coming off the wings; didn't know you could do that with the fbm. I think you should try removing seam lines next time (on the rail guns) because they look really out of place.
Were you using flash for the photography? The images seem really burned out due to flash intensity, try putting a diffuser in front of your camera flash or light source next time, (white paper, etc).
Good job, the gold looks really nice :]
Thank You, the dragoons launch image was done by using wires, good call on the rail guns I'm looking over a couple of tutorials on how to remove them.
- I agree about the pictures their pretty blurry, I'm looking into retaking them all over again and posting them over weekend.
Thank You
