Dolpa 23
I made a trip to Tokyo yesterday for Dolpa 23, so I thought I'd share some of my photos here. I had a great time, although I was tired afterwards because I arrived at just after 7am to get my hands on some of the limited outfits. You have to arrive and queue up early for the Sumika shop and for the lottery to get a chance at the limited edition dolls.
I was early enough to get myself a set of the black headphones from the shop.
Maria even comes with a little Sakutaro plush! She's my favourite of the new DD releases.
These were one-off versions of different Volks dolls - they had special make-up and unique outfits. Volks sold them by lottery - each attendee had an application form in their guide book and could submit it to the appropriate box if they wanted a chance at buying one of these.
They had a table space for owners who wanted to display their dolls, for a fee.
This one was in the owners' exhibition section as well. I don't know how this was made, but it looked really impressive.
