Gundam Astray Red Frame

The best thing to come out of SEED was this, be sure of that.
Ditched the Tactical Arms and recycled some parts of my old 1/100 Red Frame to build the MG with the classic look, which in my opinion, looks way better than with the monstrosity known as TA as backpack. Feel free to visit my blog for more pics of this superb model kit.

The black pieces were painted using gunmetal, also the lower part of the torso with silver and the red pieces of the sheat of the sword were sprayed with metallic red. For the rest I just added little golden and silver details over the model along the usual flat topcoat.
by hand or spray paint?
Beam rifle was handpainted, as so were the details of the vents, head and back of the shoulders on the Gundam. For the rest I used some spraycans to get the job done.
Cool. I want both MG and PG, getting either one of these 2 by late this month. Many PVC figures that i want are holding off my scheduled purchase of the red frame... ==

I won't build the Tactical Arms when I get one.
Although you need the old 1/100 Red Frame since the MG doesn't come with the normal beam saber backpack.
How exactly do you mount the NG backpack on to the MG? I've been looking for a tutorial for a while now and I still haven't found one.

Bout half-way down, there's a piccie with the captions explaining what was done. As to how it would be done, you're on your own, as I have yet to acquire the 1/100 Red frame to try it out.
