SD Gundam RX-78-2?!?

Posted by easy/lucky/free

I finished this model at the end of March, but just got around to putting top coat on it yesterday. This was my first model where I used a wash instead of markers to do the panel line and I liked the way it came out for the most part, aside from some paint smudging. I think it looks pretty cute! haha

Yeah, the way I did it was add a glossy layer of topcoat on the model and once the coat is dry, you mix paint with thinner until it's watery and then you ink in the panel lines with a fine brush. Once it's dry you clean up the excess marks with thinner and a cloth. You also have to make sure the paint you use to fill in the panel lines is not the same type as the topcoat, for example I used acrylic topcoat and enamel paint and thinner.
This guy has a really good tutorial and I think he posts here too.
