A quick peek at where I pursue my "new" career . . . no flat screens, laptops or graphics pad. just pencils, sculpting tools and a CD player somewhere behind me.

Isn't Polymer Clay just a bit too brittle to be used for a custom figure? I mean, Sculpey and other hardening clays are good but not as durable, and even Epoxy Putty can shatter when drilling holes for joints.
...wouldn't it be better to just sculpt the figure prototype mold in polymer clay, bake it till hard, then make a mold of it, then use something else (Resin? Or some other material) to fill it in as the final product?
that's the plan . . . the polymer stuff isn't as messy as resin, so I use it for first round prototypes - no fumes and mixing and the polymer carves quite nicely fresh out of the oven . . .:D thanks for the comment.
Now, THAT is a messy work space. You would probably get along great with my sister. :) I am the clean artist, and she is the kind where everything looks like it exploded. Can't wait to see your figure as it comes along. :D
yeh, when I was at UCLA many moons ago, I was known as one of the "dirty guys", but we got more done than the "clean" ones . . . :P
I bet you did. If you are too clean, you are spending too much time cleaning. ;)
