Camera Help?

Posted by OtakuPantsu

So I have a Fujifilm FinePix S1500, but I have no clue how to use it properly. I got it as a christmas present, and I decided to jump into the deep end with this. My brother told me to start by playing around with the shutter speed, the zoom, camera angles and find myself a few filters, but I have no clue where to buy them or anything. It's mainly a point and click thing so far. ^^;

The picture of the camera is not mine, all rights reserved. The picture of me and the camera however, IS mine.

    You probably won't need any filters right now, since it seems like you are trying to get your feet wet with the camera. Basically the dial on the top with letters A,S,M, etc. will give you controls over how you want to take photos. So if you set the dial to the green camera logo, which is Full Auto Mode, it will do all the work for you. It will set the Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO automatically for you, simply a point and shoot. If you want little more control over the camera, set the dial to 'P' (Program Auto) which lets you set the ISO sensitivity, flash on/off. It will still automatically set the aperture and shutter speed for you. Setting the dial to 'A' (Aperture Priority mode) gives you control over the aperture, and 'S' (Shutter Speed Priority Mode) gives you control over shutter speed. It will take forever for me to explain the aperture and shutter speed functions, but basically setting the dial to either the green camera logo (Full Auto) or the 'P' (Program Auto) will do a job for you. I hope this gives you a little idea of what those functions are on the dial, but if you want to be more creative, I can explain more about the aperture and shutter speed settings. If you've got any Q's just give me heads up! Good Luck! (^^)

      Ah, arigato! My brother taught me that the macro is to take closeups, and so I got four new figures (I was only supposed to get one D; XD) and decided to mess around with the macro setting, lighting, ect.
