Your figure.fm header

The PSD file for the current header is below:-
http://www.figure.fm/cgm/ecommerce/figure/etc/figurefm_header_banner.psd.zip
Its a CS4 Photoshop file but should open in any version?
Was created in Fireworks which I completely recommend for web graphics but it does not seem to be so popular.
You can pop in your photos between the white glowing lines or completely redesign the banner - its up to you. The photos need to be of high quality and stuff taken on an SLR are welcome.
Want to see all your dollfie daughters or multiple images of her in the header? Want to have some sort of 4koma of your figmas? Its up to you.
The layer "Path" is a mask that provides the rounded corners. If you don't know how to mask then leave it and I will do it.
Leave space for me to put your url as I want to unify the fonts. I am also going to create a "Contributors" page where you will be credited too. And don't forget - the figure makers are reading and may take an interest in what you are doing ;-)
When you are done, just upload as usual as jpeg and compress to 95% - any lower and the quality starts to look bad. Mirai Gaia will resize to 900px wide but the original is on the server which I will nab. Upload as many as you want but do so in a single post using the multiple image upload functionality.
No deadlines so submit when you have time - but the ones submitted first will probably get priority ^^; I cant guarantee to choose all headers though.
Headers will rotate randomly once uploaded.
Looking forward to seeing some cool headers and dont forget to mention your url and tag your submission "header."
Just like dannychoo.com where I had artwork from you in the header, I would like to create the opportunity for you to have your figure photos in the figure.fm header.

aah.. something productive to pass the idle time
I here my Sakura getting excited^^
Hmmm I've had photoshop CS3 on my computer for so long and i've never touched it so I guess this will be good for a first project lol
What kind of deadline are we looking at, Danny?
I might give this a shot once I settle back down at home. Have to start from scratch though, since I haven't really even started figure photography yet. ^^;
love the current banner and the banner(s) will be more awesome with this!
this is going to be fun ^^
I'm guessing there's no deadline for this?
Mmm... Having my own figures as a header!? Sold~! X3
It does open in CS3. I'll have to play with it and see what I come up with =3
I have neither Photoshop or a SLR camera, was shopping for one today, but couldn't decide on what to get, so wasted my money on manga, will have to wait to get it again.
Looking forward to see other member's creations though!
I highly recommend Fireworks as well.
Two features which work better than Photoshop are ..
Splicing images
and text rendering. (always seems to be a lot smoother and polished)
What do you like about Fireworks Danny?
*always* use it for making web mockups and looks like Adobe now market it as a mockup tool. The tools are specifically catered for web optimization.
Mmmm I still use photoshop 7 lol
Might try to do a dollfie banner although I don't have a special camera hehe
*Starts to sort through photos* I need to get Fireworks soon...
Great Danny, I will make one for Figure.Fm.... Greetings from Chile
I've done one banner, but I'll wait till I've more done to upload the whole lot. =)
(Dang... I didn't realize that it was okay to redesign the whole banner... grrrr...)
My current preferred imaged manipulation software is free! GIMP, functionality of other imaging softwares and more easy to work with, or maybe it is because i'm already used to it?
I'll have to start on taking some photos of my things.
Which fonts do you use for the text? Cause my PS4 tells me that fonts are missing on my system.
just getting into web design so is always good to learn things like this, thx Danny! May try doing it once later on ^_^
me needs the Figure.FM font X_X
scratch that i managed to replicate it. On with the show.
hehe, can't join, since I only have 1 figure and even if I had more I don't have photoshop ^^;;
Wish to see others though ^^
Oooh Danny, you are tickling my photoshop button, I may have to participate ^o^
figmas and Gunpla will be in my submissions of course ;)
One question: We must upload to figure.fm in PSD or JPG???
Interesting.. Interesting..
Figure.fm actually gave me the idea for the current header on my own site.
Wonder if something like that would work here, too..?
I can't use the file in Elements... D':
While I probably won't make much of note, I do know that there are some superb photographers on this site, so I am looking forward to what they make! Thanks for setting this header item up- you're going above and beyond in allowing your users to interact with the site, and I think that's great.
Oh, and regarding your comment, "And don't forget - the figure makers are reading and may take an interest in what you are doing ;-)"
Ahem...
LINA INVERSE LINA INVERSE LINA INVERSE LINA INVERSE.
This is awesome! Now I can finally make a decent header for my site. Thanks a lot!
You're supposed to make one for this site though... :p
I would more than looove to make a header, but I don't have Photoshop.
So if anyone would kindly supply an .xcf of a .png of just the Figure.fm it would help a lot.
that of in there is supposed to be or. ^^;
Ugh, I would design a header, but my Photoshop/GIMP skills are non-existent, to say the least. :/
Seems like I'm not mistaken with using Fireworks here...
That's an awesome awesome thing you're doing, Danny! Submitted!
What a nice idea! Very original.
You really are a genius.
A "contributors" page will come too, impressive.
Try to steal people ideas in a less obvious way, that makes me sad.
Sorry, I went too far with this comment.
Is this what you call an on-the-spot reaction?!
Not cool you could at least have said you got the idea from myfigurecollection.net
Oooooh... so that's why it looked kinda familiar. :P
Dammit... I can't open the PSD file in Paint shop pro... and getting my big comp from the barn wud be so irksome...
Uh, it's fine if I didn't put the "header by www.yoursite.com" right?
I don't have any website like so....
No wordpress, blogspot, facebook, twitter, none of it.
Well, maybe devianART, but that's not like a blog or something...
Another reason is I don't think I know how to get that font...
I think Danny will be adding that, so the font is the same on all submissions.
Mine are also up.
But still, what to put on that "yoursite.com"?
I don't have any of those wordpress-like kind...
Flickr? No. Blogspot? No.
I don't have any of those kind ><
Your deviantart account is suffice I think...
I'm not too good at that stuff and I don't own any figures to do a good photo shoot.
