May loot, Fanime and Macross sketches

My loot for the month....

Mouseover = load notes.
May loot, Fanime and Macross sketches

This is my favorite acquisition of the month! It's actually quite hard to get a full color sketch, so I'm quite lucky to be able to get this. I was able to get a bunch of sketches for Macross F so I'm very happy since it's one of my favorite shows. I can't wait to get them framed. I'm thinking of re-taking the pics of my otacool entry to see if I can incorporate them in my displays...we'll see if I have time.

The one to the left is actually my friend's. It's so pretty so I also took a pic of it. Mine is on the right. I think mine is cooler...lol..

Like a lot of people here, I went to Fanime, an anime con in northern California. It was a lot of fun. Here's my con loot

One of my favorite parts of Fanime is that it has a swap meet. This is my loot from the swap meet.Lots of cool stuff for pretty good prices...

lol..no...i did show them in my otacool entry..but I really want to get a better camera before i start taking pics of them...they're just so pretty, i want to do them justice...but i guess in order to buy a SLR i should probably cut back a bit on the figures for a while...i've been trying..but it's too hard..lol..

OMG so much awesome loot. Your loot post never fail to amaze me. Didn't know you went to Fanime but then again I only went Friday and didn't get to see that many people from here since most went on Saturday.

Your welcome^^. Yea I wish I was able to go for all 3 of the main days like I did last year but I didn't have a real job last year so I had to work this time around for the larger days. Oh well it was still an amazing time there even if it was only one day.

    Awesome sketches!

I didn't know the guests were doing sketches, bleh. That's one thing that sucks about being a dealer, I can't really go to the events.

yea, sometimes if you're lucky a guest will draw for you if you go to their autograph session. yea being stuck in the dealers/volunteering sometimes sucks since you can miss some of the events. used to to that when i was still a student as well.

Whoa, that's a lot of sketches from Yokota! How'd you end up with so many? O.o I know he had 2 sketch sessions, but the colored sketch and your Sheryl must have took a long time!

Lol now I feel really old. I'm part of the generation that ordered/traded fansubs in VHS. I also went to local Japanese video stores and rented the shows with no subs. I remember how long I had to wait for stuff and knew off hand what was being relesed commercially since not a lot was being released. All you youngins are lucky nowadays because in my day.....rambles...lol...but yea I tend to buy old stuff since I'm rebuying my childhood since I couldn't get the stuff back then. Lol

Lol.. i'm sorry, if it helps i'm 24...now i feel old...lol. I also grew up with VHS, but mines was with chinese dub, chinese sub(which i couldn't really read lol) or raw. I also like to buy older figures that I missed, but thats only when I have the funds for it. lol

Grrr I remember those VHS days... crappy video quality, almost unrecognizable images lol. It does feel good to remember those days and see how now things are a lot easier (especially since the acquisition of our own money) for our hobby.

This is my 3rd year missing Fanime. I had to work, so I guess instead of spending money, I earned money, so a good trade off then. But I miss out on the awesome dealers hall and epic cosplay. Nice sketches.

I'm only excessive with my hobby but pretty good spending wise on all other things so it balances out. But I don't spend like this normally it's just that my current fave shows seem to release a lot of merchandise. Lol. And certainly hanging out here doesn't help. Lol

YAY Fate Plushy EEEEEEEEEEEEE. I didn't see any at the convention. I wonder if she went fast just like the Nanoha Nendoroid, because no venders had it at all.
