Guard Skill: Mapo Tofu~
What I had for dinner today.

Sigh, my life is being controlled by Anime yet again. (^.^;)

Not as zestful as the one featured in the Anime though, which I’m honestly exceedingly thankful for as my tongue heatshield cannot withstand anything that’s too capsaicinalicious. Not to mention, I had it with rice.

Mapo Tofu is spicy dish consisting of Tofu, Minced Meat (Chicken or Pork), Green & Red Peppers, Mushrooms, Chili and various other spices and garnishes. Quite scrumptious indeed.

天使 Mapo Tofu Moe~ Can’t wait to share a meal with 天使 again when I get a hold on her Dakimakura and Nendoroid Petite! (^o^) Not to mention, take more adorable 天使 pictures.

SUDDEN EPIPHANY: I am a sad, sad, ronery Otaku… and I like it. (T.T)

looks good
yummm...looks delicious:) do they even have a Kanade Dakimakura yet? I hope so!
I think there was one that came with a magazine if I remember correctly.
Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe vol. 6 came with a Kanada dakimakura and a Yurippe petit nendoroid.
The magazine, the nendo and the daki:

It IS delicious. But isn't it Mabo Tofu?
well depends on how you want to pronounce it... in the english world... it seems to be accepted as mapo tofu.... but when i pronounce it in chinese it's closer to "ma bo dou fu" in cantonese
Hah! My tongue's heatshield is so well-built I even have Anti-Beam coating with it! Mapo Tofu is definately not spicy, but I have to admit it was Kotomine Kirei than got me hooked on it, not Tenshi.
Think I can handle most "renditions" of Mapo Tofu if their goal is not to make it ultra spicy. However I remember my Szechuan trip a few summers back....it was not pleasant.
when I went to Hong Kong I ate them all the time,my friend's mom made them and it was yummy.
So did you make it as spicy as the one in Angel Beats??
that dish just got on my MUST EAT list . . .thanks :D
I tried to make this too, but the times I've made it I was lacking Chilli Paste, so it wasn't as red as yours.
I had tofu, Szechuan pepper, minced pork, dry chilli flakes, fresh chilli, ginger, salty black beans and garnished with some spring onion and parsley. Next time it'll be pure red with chilli oil and chilli paste.
Chiili paste,Tofu, and some vegetables and meat ?
looks good but I think it is not too spicy.
There's many different ways to make Mapo Tofu. The one my mom makes is not too spicy, more sweet-ish. Personally, I'm not very good at making it. I guess Chahan (Fried Rice) and western foods are more my specialty...
