Disappearance of the White Detolf Case
During the New Year period, their was a sale on White Detolf Case for $20 each. About few weeks ago, I went to Ikea and the White Detolf Case was on sale for $30 and had a sign that said "Last Chance". Along with it was the Biby Case on sale for $30(not sure if it was specific color). I called my friend about this sale and in the same night (maybe 30min after I called him), he went to a different Ikea and it wasn't on sale, it was their but not on sale. Not too long after that, I checked the online site to find out that the White Detolf was taken off, the other 2 color is still their. I went to the same Ikea that my friend went to that didn't have the sale and the White Detolf is completely gone, but the other 2 color is still for sale.
Just want to give people a heads up that if you are looking for the white case, it might have been discontinued and can become a rare item.
YEAH I noticed that too! I wanted to get a new detolf to match my current one, but guess what colour it is? :(
I brought 2 that day when it was on sale for $30. I only can fit 1more into my room, so the other one is going to my friend.
wait a minute ... detolf cases are a rare item... you make it sound like a trading card... oh well on topic damnz i hope he ikea near me sill has one of these thy look quite good
Not saying detolf case is a rare item(birch and brown is still being sold), but the white one has disappear and if you already have a white one and want to get a matching one, as of right now you won't be able to find it. You can always just get the other color and paint it white.
Good thing I got mine at the $20 sale! Looks like white is now a "Rare Item" indeed. Guess it must not have been selling as well as the others.
I went to probably the same Ikea as you 2 weeks ago and the white case was sold out and they said they are no longer carrying/making the white one when I asked if they had more.
Anyone know if there's anywhere I can get these in Canada? Okra doesn't ship outside the US...

You'll also have similar shelvings to DETOLF at local shops. I forget the name of the one I got mine at, but they were around the same price.

Glad I decided not to go with white for my displays... I could probably use another one, but I don't have any room to put more. :(

White Detolf is indeed discontinued.
I was buying a Birch one a few weeks ago, and while I was loading it onto the cart, the employees came and took the whole stack of white ones away, saying it was discontinued.
It doesn't bother me, because I like the natural wood look, but I see how it would be a problem if you already had white furniture to match. As another poster suggested, it wouldn't be hard to paint the base at all, as long as you can find a matching color of white. If you wanted a really close match, I suppose you could go to a hardware center and actually buy some of the stick-on white laminate and cut it to fit, as well.
Yeah they discontinued them everywhere. It was a nice colour, I dunno why they got rid of it. I'll never be able to get a second case now. D: Had to buy a white Expedit instead. XD
