Random Japan Shots
Been wanting to share these with people who might appreciate them for a while - they've been taken across 3 trips and two Camera bodies :)
Hopefully I might well have improved in the newer ones :D
I've got a metric ton more, but these are ones I got around to rating highly in Aperture ^^;
Please feel free to comment ^^

Possibly my favourite shot from my first trip out there. ^_^

Ema, or prayer plaques at the Kiyomizu temple in Kyoto. The tradition is that you write a wish, such as exam success or a promotion (or world peace) and then they are hung by the monks at the shrine. After a while they collect them all up and burn them for the gods.

The taito building in Akiba. The highlights are from the big glass building that houses Tokyo Anime Center

Don't believe Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - it is still standing ;)

This is Kinaku-ji in Kyoto, aka the golden temple/golden pavillion.
You can find out more about it here

she looks abit like Misa from death note
Is this a street full with restaurants? Where is this place?
It's one of the back alleys in Shinjuku - unfortunately it was before I bought my GP-1 so I haven't got an exact location for it, but given the body shop MINT in the left hand side, it's one of the locations on this link:
http://www.mint-jp.com/
beware - that link is NSFW! (sorry, didn't scroll down far enough to notice!)
Where is this!?
Kyoto, Golden temple
I have to go there next!
I've added a google maps link and the wiki page for it for you ^^
Wow, lots of really beautiful shots, Andy. Great job.
It's always been my dream to visit. I'll get there sometime soon ^^
Thanks ^^
It's well worth going. I know I was daunted on my first time out there (that time I travelled alone and went to Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, Nara, Tokyo and Nikko) - but if it helps, use the hostels and stuff and you'll probably make some friends. I've got fond memories of Kyoto Karaoke with random swiss bankers, and walking around Nikko with a man in a kilt ;)
Great shots good sir.
Great photos!
the new taito station!, awesome, really wanna go there
