I am thinking of pre ordering this figure from Otacute for $104 (its $130 on JList) however it seems is kind of on the expensive side for a 1/8 scale figure. Does anyone else have any thoughts to offer on it? The manufacturer is listed as Ascii Media Works. Is anyone familiar with the quality of the figures they produce?
Also how is the shipping from Otacute? Do they handle packing ok or do they mutilate the package?
The reason why she's expensive is because this Taiga is an mail order-exclusive figure that's supposedly is only available for shipping within Japan. This is why a lot of online stores raise the price a little bit because that's the only way they'd get commission. Her retail price is 6,500 yen + shipping and handling (within Japan)
If you want her for cheaper, Otacute is pretty good, since their price is quite close to those of proxy services. Not to mention you can pay for her later.
I've had an item bought from Otacute. Their service is pretty good :) They give you a few freebies with your order too. ^^
Awesome. I figured the price was because she is limited edition. If the quality is good its worth it. Taiga kind of reminds me of a friend from work. She is tiny, flat as a board and has an attitude (if you get one her bad side) the size of the building we work in lol.
Lots Toradora! figures are limited figures, so best get them if you have money or you might pay for them 3x or more later! ><;;

I've quite a few orders from Otacute, and they always come in great conditions, usually protecting the items inside the package with newpapers.
And yeah I've also pre-ordered this on Otacute too, I've thought of using proxy service but afraid that it might be too expensive. ^^'
I just Pre-ordered that Taiga Figure from Otacute just yesterday...I think I made a mistake for pre-ordering that cuz I cant cancel my reservation (which I want to) *sigh* oh well there goes $104 out of my savings. It better not come to me Deformed. bad coloring, and such.
Why do you want to cancel? Just not comfortable waiting that long for the product?
Actually cuz when "Yangth" said that he/she (Sorry idk your gender) already pre-ordered thru tokyo Hunter for about the same price as Otacute. then I guess Im wrong about wanted to canceled it cuz when I looked at Tokyo Hunter it was 6500 yen, which is about $70 i think. and I thought it was cheap, that why i wanna canceled it on Otacute and get it from tokyo hunter but I guess Otacute and Tokyo hunter charged the same price. soooo nvm xD
I pre-ordered mine through Tokyo Hunter for about the same price. It's a lovely figure indeed. I was a bit hesitant due to the pricing too, but it's a mail-in exclusive, which definitely ups it's value. That, and I already missed out on my chance for the Dengeki Daioh Taiga, so I was so not goin' to miss this one!
