I stumbled upon this software where you could control your Nikon DSLR. Just having fun with it at the moment. Pretty useful when you have a studio but i don't - I have my shelf with lights :3

Ooh, very interesting, still trying to see what i want to invest in as far as a DSLR goes, how's the Nikon?
The Nikon is great so far. Loving it to the max!.. This was after i learned how to use it properly xD. I cant really compare it to any other since its the only one I have. Filming capabilities are great. And taking pics with it turns out great - love the pics that i get. Happy so far. Will be back posting some more pics - next time, on japan!
My Canon T1i came with the same kind of software. As well as a basic photo-editor/RAW-converter.
I'd say that kind of program works best with a notebook computer. It doesn't need a lot of processing power to run, and its still very portable. (That being said, i think there's also an iPhone app that does that too.
The most awesome thing about it is that you can set it up to take a exposures of X seconds long every Y seconds. so its a really easy way to do time-laps, even in low light. And if you shell out for a sky tracker tripod, you could stack multiple exposures of the same stars to get very detailed pictures of the stars.
Thats like so many things i didnt know. I have it installed on my laptop so it remains very portable. (How the heck does it work on an iPhone? I'm guessing wireless?). Gotta do some research on picturing stars. Thanks for the comment x]
I need a new lens for my D5000. I am no longer satisfied by the kit lens. ^ ^;
