Well, it’s finally here: my first pre-ordered figure, the Lancelot Albion from Code Geass. It looks like it’s sold very quickly, with many stores sold out before the figure even released, and I have to say I’m glad I got my order in when I had the chance. From Bandai’s Robot Damashii (or The Robot Spirits) line of figures, the Lancelot Albion is an incredibly well-crafted figure with plenty of extras.

Before I get onto pictures of the figure itself, I’ll give you an overview of the features and accessories. First up, the extras: included are two Maser Vibration Swords (plus sheaths and closed hilts), two VARIS rifles (one in closed mode and one open), four pairs of hands (open, fists, for swords and for rifles), four Slash Harkens and finally – a more distinguishing feature of the Lancelot Albion – the energy wing system. There’s also a closed version of the wings in case you want to pose the figure without them (but why would you)?

The extra sword hilts mentioned previously are for the sheaths only: the swords themselves don’t fit in, so you pop the hilts in to create the illusion. It works well, especially because it means that the guards on the hilts are closed when the swords are sheathed, just like in the show. Everything looks great, and the colouring and attention to detail are perfectly faithful to the anime.

That same care has gone into the Lancelot Albion itself, with the striking gold and white colour scheme in full effect (photos don’t do the gold sheen true justice). The figure feels solid and there’s plenty of articulation; I won’t go through all the points because that would be a rather long list but rest assured, this figure should be able to recreate any pose from the anime. Of course, in-flight poses would require a stand which, sadly, isn’t included. I think that it would have been nice for Bandai to include a stand with a figure that has wings, but given the impressive array of extras they did include it’s an easy shortcoming to forgive. There is an official range of Robot Damashii stands, if you’re so inclined.

With such an excellently crafted Knight Mare Frame and a healthy range of accessories, it would be difficult for me to not recommend this figure to Code Geass fans despite the omission of a stand in the package. However, with stock seemingly running low you’ll want to act fast or do some serious hunting. It’ll make a fine addition to any figure collection – or a great start to one – and is the perfect companion to the Guren S.E.I.T.E.N. Eight Elements, which is due for release in November (also in the Robot Damashii line, which seems like a very good thing after seeing the quality of this figure firsthand).

I don't have any Figmas, so unfortunately I can't test that out for you!

When I was in Japan, it was sold out everywhere I went. I only got one at a local store for like $60 > < I don't like how the Lancelot can't move his head around very well either. But it's a good figure.

It's getting a re-release in November, so hopefully it'll be easier to find (and a little cheaper) for those who've missed out the first time around.

I just got mine today, I bought it off ebay for 60 including ship.

never bought anything that expensive and previously only built gundam models. The scary thing was the moment I opened it out of the calm shell packaging, the two lower leg parts popped off. >.<
        no problem now though.

Maybe yours was meant to be a special "post-F.L.E.I.J.A." edition? I'm glad it turned out alright though, it's a great figure. I definitely recommend picking up a Damashii Stage stand so you can pose it in flight! ^_^
