Alfisti's Imaging Armoury
Finally found the time to take shots of... umm... what I use to take shots ^^;

Ok, first the cams I use day-to-day and for most figure shoots:
Canon 5D MkII
- 24-105mm f4
- 70-200mm f2.8
- 2x extender (not shown)
This is actually a family camera and is mostly used by mother for motorsport photography. I nab it for most of my figure shoots as well. Brilliant bit of gear, love it to bits.
Minolta XD-s
- 35-70mm f3.5 lens with built in macro
- 28mm f2.8
- 100-200mm f5.6 (this lens is really hard to use)
- 50mm f? (still in the possession of relatives, need to steal back)
- Hotfoot flash
This camera has been in the family since dad got it in 1983, it's the first camera I ever used and is now mine. Takes 35mm film, currently being used to shoot black and white. As a side note, the XD-s was apparently a Japan only special model of the XD-7/11 manual focus cameras, so how we got it new I've no idea. We've also got a large number of filters and other accessories for this camera that I've yet to explore.
Panasonic Lumix LX3
The camera I carry everywhere and I guess needs no introduction. Yes, I still use the standard Lumix lens cap and have no intention of changing. Why? Because I'm weird and, in these days of instant everything, enjoy the extra bit of drama and tactile sense the lens cap gives. Actually that's kind of why I like the LX3 itself in that a lot of functions have their own switches rather than making me hunt through menus. That said I reckon the space used by the focus and aspect ratio selectors could have been better utilised with an apature ring... but if I start talking about product semantics and emotional design we'll be here all night...

Speaking of emotional design: the fun cameras. These I basically bought because they make me giggle.
Polaroid OneStep Flash
Bought off eBay earlier this year, chose this model because it has a "macro" function (though it's pretty useless) that I could kind-of use for figure shots. Heaps of fun, and popular with people who get the whole idea.
Holga 120N
This only came in the mail this week, so I've not had a chance to play with it. Very cheap, plastic lensed, medium format toy camera. Basically it's filling the role the Polaroid was, a basic fun camera that takes a whole different type of learning, now that film for the latter is becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of (if anyone knows what happend to that mob who were going to start producing Polaroid film again...)

Finally, the two cams that have been superseded in the armoury.
Canon 300D
The first DSLR bought by the family... now replaced as a first-liner by the 5D. Kind of hoping that I'll be able to buy it off the folks at a reduced price some time.
Olympus... something. I honestly can't remember what model this one is, but it's what the LX3 replaced as an everyday camera.
And that's the lot.

Minolta?! Polaroid?! You've got some serious hot stuff here my friend!
Cheers mate... I'm glad people still get the whole point of both =P
HOLY CRAP!! you have a Holga and a polaroid!! I is envious.
Cheers mate... well the Holga's so cheap there's really not much to lose getting one and trying it out :D
Alright! Finally someone else who shoots film!
Nice gear, must be nice to have a photo-savvy family.
Haha, yeah there's a couple of others who shoot film around the joint as well... just a bit difficult to track down :P I'm only just getting back into film after a long hiatus (known as "broken camera" syndrome ^^; ), defs nice to be back on film again though.
BTW: had a flick through your portfolio, seriously man, you've got some awesome shots in there.
Things will only get more difficult from here on out with film.
Gotta keep those cameras foamed and running though!
And thanks! Glad you like my stuff!
Luving your MkII!
Have fun with the Holga! I like playing with my Lomo cameras if I ever get the chance to buy film. I have an Actionsampler that I take with me to trips...haven't taken it out enough, though.
I have a Canon AE-1 Program that I've only taken out a couple of times since inheriting it from my dad. It's still in pretty good condition, too! It's fun to use especially after using digital most of the time.
Cheers mate, I intend too :D Ran a roll of film through it today and will probs throw another through it tomorrow then get them developed... heaps of fun so far, kinda freeing not having to worry about focus (sort of), shutter speed or even really bothering with the viewfinder.
Cool to see others shooting a bit of film around the place, it's defs got a different feel to shooting digital!
