Miyavi event at SugoiLife, Northridge, CA
My vinyl buddies and I went to SugoiLife at Northridge Fashion Center. This is the San Fernando Valley community that got hammered by a quake in January 1994. Well, there was a housequake alright at SugoiLife, a sort of one-stop-shop for the Ota lifestyle. Miyavi was supposed to make an appearance. Umm...not...quite... But it was fun nonetheless. Z made some fans, and Yumiko got to observe a mostly female Otaku crowd who were totally awed by the presence of the Black Samurai Guitarist. A presence that was hidden away for almost all of the event. I thought that was a bit lame of him, actually.

The last pic is amazing. Yumiko looks very curious.
I can't wait for my Dollfie Dream, it's going to be ordered in July ^^
Hahaha very good couple ~
great cosplay ever. But lipring seem different. Btw, i love Jrock too. Mine favorite is Gazette
Nice, sounds like fun :D
Cool DD guitar~
From what I heard, Miyavi wasn't at the event that long because he arrived late due to LA traffic and doing other meet-and-greets earlier in the day. Yes, even J-rock stars can't stop the laws of California traffic flow.
Nevertheless, it looked like an awesome event. I wish that I could have gone. However, driving from Orange County after work to Northridge would have been impossible for me. =/
See this "tented" area? Miyavi was "hiding out" in here for a large portion of the event. I don't buy the "stuck in traffic" crap. He poked his head out of the tented area (although the crowd had surged forward at that point and it was very hard to see) but only briefly, and after the MC guy (don't know who he was affiliated with) had stirred up the crowd into a frenzy. This was cold and calculated. I'm serious. I can say with a fair amount of confidence that he was in back of there for most of the time.
A little bit of data about this guitar...it's a replica of Slash's "Snakepit" Les Paul. I got it from an eBay merchant. Here's the Genuine Article playing the Genuine Article: http://www.snakepit.org/snakepit10.jpg
