Figure Packaging Issue
How many of you figure collectors keep the boxes of your figures? And for what purpose? Are you happy with how the overall packaging turned out?
I due have a few issues with my figures' packaging. Some are good, some are bad. Here's an example from me.

My Figuart Another Agito's box. What I really like about this packaging is that it's very compact and doesn't consume a lot of spaces. A very good design since I don't have much room to store all of my stuffs and stashes.

Now, my problem with this packaging is the plastic container. Every time I take off the top cover, the extra hands on the side tends to fly off since the top cover snaps to the bottom tray. Sure, the items are secured, but kinda ticks me off. I did lose of of the hand once but manage to find it the next day.

My Figma Subaru Nakajima. Figma's on the other hand a bit bigger than Figuart's consumes more spaces but not near big enough to consumes a crap load of spaces. Though there are a lot of room wasted inside the box, I found a way to make those empty cavity useful.

As you can see here, I stored the Figma zip-lock (with Figma hands in it) in the back of the plastic container. Very useful, if I say so myself.

It's plastic container are surprisingly big despite having a not so big parts and accessories. Because of the way the base of the Figma stand positioned in the container, the container are thicker that the Figuart's. What I really love about this container is that the top cover simply slides over the bottom tray without snapping on to it. No small parts flying off this time.

My SIC Zeronos and Deneb. The packaging for SIC in my opinion has to be the bad one all around, it not the worst. It's big and consumes a mutherload of spaces. Though to be fair, there are 2 figures, and the figure itself are bigger than Figuarts and Figmas.

Now this has got to be the worst container (in my opinion). Wires and tapes to hold the small parts and accessories. Not my cup of tea. There are no top cover for the first tray to begin with, and while the second (bottom) tray are covered by the first tray, there are still wires and tapes in it. Fail. The tapes are still forgiving. I would have forgiven the wires, if they're aren't a crap load of it. It would have been better if they've made a top cover for the first and second tray, OR design the first tray in a way so that it'll hold the parts from the second tray more securely.
So, out of the 3, I choose Figma's packaging. Figuart's on the other hand are not that bad, but it's my preference mostly.
What about you guys? What issues do you have with figure packagings? Good or bad? Share with us your MOST honest opinion.

LOL i cant agree more with you for the s.i.c ... since i collect sic i have sooo many of these cable tied boxes .. it takes me so long to take them out .... and it makes it a hasel ... i think they do this because the s.i.c figures are alot heavier then both figma and s.h.figu so it wont be possible to have friction to hold the figures.
True. But from what I heard (not sure about it though) is that SIC Kabuto didn't have any wire. Is it true? Because if it is, that would have been the way to go. Again, since my SIC Zeronos is older compared to Kabuto, that would have been quite an improvement.
lol yeah. the damn plastic cast dont seem to fit in very well after youve taken em off the first time
I dislike all that wire stuff too. But I guess the reason they do this is to keep the content intact. I'm pretty sure people would be angry if there figure/s weren't protected.
I try and keep my boxes but mostly throw them away.
Obviously if the figure is more expensive, packaging tends to be better.
I think I have kept all the boxes for my figures. I guess I just like to know I still have the boxes from when I opened them. Problem now though is I'm running out of space lol.
Well, storing the boxes are no problem, but sometimes how the figure is packaged is kind of, wasteful? i guess. Sometimes i get a figure that could have clearly gotten a smaller packaged than what it came in. However it's always consistent in the size, so i can tell which company made what. I really have a dislike for the wires, but they aren't as bad as the clear rubber band thingies...not really sure what they're made of, but anyways, you go to pry a figure out of the plastic and find that it's stuck somehow. Then you pull some more, and you break something off, then you realize that there is a rubber band holding it down....*sighs* i've stopped collecting US based toys for this reason because i see no point in going through all that trouble to get a figure out of it's packaging, because they're trying to prevent someone stealing a figure. On another note, i dislike collecting figures that comes in clam-shells, they can't be put back into their packaging! So i simply throw those away.
I'm more annoyed that Figma's get ziplock bags, and Nendo's don't - but cost more.
SECONDED.
I dont keep any of my figures in boxes, but I do keep the boxes for moving purposes or lack of space. The closest I came to keeping a figure in a box was Nanoha Exceed Mode. But I caved and took her out in a bout 2 days time lol
I keep all of my boxes, just because I am a completionist at times. The boxes do look pretty nice by itself too.
What you looking for in boxes is apparently size and ease of access. What you think is probably different from mine. The boxes depends on the material it is made of, the pictures and colors on it, the number, shape and size of the windows. Which means that it varies from figures to figures.
I don't like SH figuarts' boxes. So plain and ugly. It's small but I wish that they could have packed a base with it. Now I have to buy something separate in order to do a Rider Kick. >.<
That's kinda the same reason I've kept my boxes.
To me, Figma's boxes are lot easier when it comes to take out and restoring it's respective figure. I do love the style they've used for Figma's boxes.
I do agree with you regarding Figuarts' boxes. Plain, but I kinda love it's simplicity. And yes, it would have been nice if they've included a base since it's hard for me to find Tamashii stage locally.
My favorite kind of boxes right are Nendo boxes. Sure they are big and has wasted space, but I like their design. ^ ^;
I can't find any Tamashii stages locally either. >.<
I usually don't keep the boxes because they not only takes up space, but too many boxes can attract pests like cockroaches (I'm from a tropical country, so pests are common), or any cardboard/paper items. That also means keeping non-gloss paper books out of my room. My mum nags me for storing more than 5 or 6 boxes, they are an eyesore to her... >.<
So far i only keep 5 MG Gunpla boxes for storing stuff, and 2 figure boxes (though i have over 60 gunpla and a dozen of figures). My only figure kept in box is Saber Lily -i don't want my hundred dollar figure to get too much dust.
And yes, all the spare parts in gunpla, nendo etc goes into a special tool box with compartments to separate them.
This is what seriously drives me bananas about some figure packaging.
This is also my problem I'm removing my S.I.C. in the on the plastic tray >.>
I mean on the plastic tray
