Microsoft Kinect
Kinect is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based around an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360's audience beyond its typical gamer base.

I assume that the next comment are gonna be like: "This is soo gonna kill Move!" or something like that X3
look its a fairy tail :P
Lol
Actually, I was gonna say all this Kinect/Move stuff is all a gimmick...
>_< I don't really like the idea of holding nothing and playing Metal Gear Solid : Rising :P.
Well, at least with the Kinect you don't have the chance of having the controller slip out of your hands and accidentally make a hole in your favorite TV set. ^~^'
The only game I have seen as of yet that looks interesting to actually use with Kinect is Milo. Milo was noticeably absent from this year's E3 =( .
Using Kinect in MGS: Rising may be cool for the sword slashing, but outside of that, it probably won't be intuitive or fun.
Kinect sounds interesting to use with Child of Eden and possibly MGRising. (though to be honest, id rather use a controller in MGRising).Still though, I cant shake the thought that "its like eye-toy". I know kinect is more advanced, but I just didnt like PSEye all that much. I guess Ill have to wait to try it out to pass judgment.
I feel the same.
Everything I am seeing at E3 from sony and xbox in my eyes is nothing new. It's been done before, it's just that it wasn't done well before and has been leveled up to an acceptable level of fun. The one thing I have seen E3 that has gotten me super excited and "omg sweeeeet" is the 3DS. (my last nintendo purchase was a GBA about 8years ago btw)
Wow this lineup of kinect games really suck. The lineup for the Nintendo 3DS is so much better.
i was wondering if something like this can adapt to a nonfuctional but movable mecha-cockpit and make it functional via gestures for games like armored core and such^^
And I can actually play VO: OT with this? Jump-canceling would be a hoot! XD
I plan on getting one around launch. In addition to the gameplay stuff (which can be neat in a party setting), I'm interested in the voice command and new video chat capabilities. The improved integration with Windows Live Messenger would also be a plus for some folks and I may end up shipping a 360 to my parents just for that functionality.
Personally, I probably won't be playing too many games with it. This really is a device targeted towards getting more people involved with the system and shifting the target away from the hardcore gamers. There are a lot of awesome non-game features in the 360 and I'm hoping more people will realize that.
Did you know? The 360 was the first current gen console to support streaming of MPEG4 and h264. Sadly, Sony was the first to advertise that it could, and thus most folks think Microsoft was lagging behind Sony. :(
