Dollfie carrying case - An inexpensive alternative

Posted by Asian Ed [www]

Stumbled upon an inexpensive alternative for carrying Dollfies. Behold, a ukulele case! This particular one cost me $15 from eBay and measures 27" long. As Yoko and Rin demonstrate, it's a pretty decent fit and good for casual travel. For longer trips, something more elaborate may be in order. More information on the case on my blog.

Yoko: Looks like it could be quite comfortable...

Yoko: The padding feels nice, you should try it Rin!

Rin: I don't think so. How are you holding up in there?

Yoko: Finally, light!

    Tell us how it works out after you take it to the field, this looks too tight to me. I personally prefer the Volks bag because you going to want more room than what you are showing on the pictures, to be able to take the DD in/out for setup and moving from one spot to another. After taking Asuka out to Acen and carrying all the equipment with me, I can say I am reasonably happy with the Volks bag. I read you are going to wrap them in white towel but that will also guarantee the hair sticking to the towel each time you take them in/out of the bag too, just my 2 cents.

      On my last outing, I actually found myself not putting the doll back in the bag after each shot. I pretty much didn't bother due to how much I was moving around and setting up. So really, just using the carry case for primary transport to and from location and to carry whatever small accessories I might use.

    Interesting find Ed ^^. Good for those who have one dollfie and far less expensive than the Volks one. I think the Volks carrying bag is way overpriced and only has room for one. I like mine since it fits 4 + extra clothing (although I only own 3 XD). http://www.figure.fm/post/en/10755/Dollfie+Carrying+Case.html
    And the price was only slightly more than double what you paid. $37 ^^ I also plan to travel with mine so the hard case is a must. Soft shell on a plane = damaged goods. ; ;

      Ohh, I like that! Would have to consider it if I was taking my daughters on a long trip or something and needed the extra protection.

      Thanks to your post I also picked one up and I have to say I agree with you with it being a very nice and durable case. Just wondering have you flown with it yet? Can you take it as carry-on or stow it as luggage? Cause I plan on taking it with me and i am worried about storing it in luggage.

      Great for short trips, or where protection needs aren't as high. Not something I'd fly with, to be sure.

    Looks like a neat diy DD carry case. I'd have liked getting the Volks bag bit it is expensive and out of stock last time I checked.

    Will have to see if I can find an alternative.

      DDs are as big as a ukulele. Ukes are smaller than a guitar. ^.^

    Dollmore has the best case for your buck... $25 bucks fits one DD or 2 MSD. Definitely a good choice for those who are looking for a way to transport your daughters ;)
