Not much love for Dollfie Dream at this event...damn. It's very SD/MSD/YoSD oriented which I suppose is to be expected. I don't think Volks really knows how to promote Dollfie Dream, and they leave it to people like Mr. Postman here in the States and Danny Choo to get people excited about DD/DDDy/MDD.

Still, I kinda wish I was able to be there. Even if I'd have to leave Z at home...:P

I am sure you can bring DD dolls to this sort of events so no need to leave them at home.

I get the feeling that DDs are considered "entry level" dolls and "not for real enthusiasts." At least, that's the impression I got when I brought a DD to a BJD panel at a local con.

...of course, the DD got the most people looking because it was Rin and people enjoyed the likeness to the character. Somehow I think I would have gotten a larger flock if I brought Yoko with me too...

Well, technically DDs are not considered as real BJDs. DD's use an exo-skeleton in comparison to other BJDs which uses string ball joints.

My thought on this is pretty simple.. If there is a NYC Dollpa next year.

We entrepid souls who own our Dollfie Dreams, should take it upon ourselves to make our presence known! I hearby declare to if there is another NYC Dollpa, that in one year Hence! Let all the Dollfie Dream owners on Flickr and Figure.fm convene at the Fashion Institute of New York City to have a meet up and show them the real power of our Dollfies!

I live in NYC and I totally forgot there's a dolpa event here but then again I wouldn't really go coz I got no one to go with and it will seem kinda odd to bring a DD along with me, only wish I knew ppl with similar interest in my city T_T . I heard the tickets ain't cheap either so that's another reason I didn't attend. I wonder are there like sample clothes and accessories for Dollfie to try on before you buy in these events?

The ticket was only $40 per person.
You cannot try clothes before you buy, but some samples were put on display models and most of the clothes had pictures showing how do they look on the dolls.
