Subways... (Beijing, Day 6)

Posted by Ne3on

This is a break post from the exciting life of figure collecting to talk about the everyday subway.

Everyday I take the Beijing subway to my destinations, and when I travel back it gets really crowded, especially during rush hour! It worries me, especially when I am transporting figures back to the apartment that my stuff that I am carrying will be crushed when I am sandwiched between so many people!

This is Line 10. A lot of people get on this line, but not too many.

Sea of people storm through the transfer station.

This is Line 1. The oldest and busiest line since it runs though the center of the city.

As we can see here, people are crammed inside like sardines.

And still some people try to shove their way in.

Every train is like this (but thats probably because there is 20 million people in Beijing, all taking the subway). It's crazy! When I was in this train I was literally rubbing shoulders with everyone around me. You can even smell the sweat and feel people breathing on you... I have been though this daily since I got here and I think I'm getting used to it. O.o

I don't think Beijing people wear deodorant... I'm not just saying that because of the subway rides; its because when I go to the local drug stores here I can't find any...

Moar human cramming in the opposite direction.

I don't have a convenient subway system back home since we use the car to go everywhere, so this was kinda amusing to me.

Is your local subway system hectic like this?
