I want to everyone tell me about the custom fee in your respective countries because my father send me from japan Saber Lily and I paid 40 dollars and I live in Argentina, sooo if you guys tell me about the custom fee I will be happy :)
THANKS

in my country..some custom fee are way high on tax, so i don't trusted that officials handle that..they are corrupt & bad to hostage a package just to pay the amount tax & percentage EMS bills..i have a bad situation on that a years ago.
ah the motherland...
A seal..it's original ^Y^
Such an awesome father! :D I have never gotten a custom fee in the US though I have heard of it if your package is declared above a $1000 USD.
Never been charged with a custom fee before for figures in the US, but my brother has been charged for import tax with oversized car parts(hood and bumper).
Only thing I been charged for many times is foreign exchange fee from my bank, which is 3% of the total when using credit card. If you want to not pay foreign exchange fee, use paypal instead.
to the US, I think it's over a certain amount, or electronics, or car parts that get import tax
Its usually not the actual custom charge which hits you hard in the UK... its the Parcelforces 'handling charge' which is extortionate. Custom charges haven't been over £10-15 usually for me... but I've made sure not to use Parcelforce as much as possible....
Yeah, that's ridiculous, it's not just Parcelforce, it's Royal Mail in general.
In one word: terrible. Over here you get charged 19% VAT for everything that is worth more than 22 euros....which is just about anything. Plus you always get a 17 euro custom charge. T-T
Only if the item is marked as a gift does the limit go to 45 euros, but only if it is a real gift from a person and not marked by a store like hobbysearch. So i guess that I would have to pay 40 euros too for Saber....
Don't worry in Argentina if the figure worth more than 25dollars they charge 50% of the declarated value T-T
Only get custom fees (and extra shipping fees) if the package is worth more than 66 sFr(swiss francs) so I just ask the seller to put that the package is worth less than 66 sFr
Import tax in Norway is about 20% of the value of the product you're importing. Very expensive, but just about anything you buy in this country 25% of the fee goes to the state. So its doesn't really bother me, it would cost the same if I import it my self, and if I bought it in a shop. If I could that is, which by the way I can't.
Never got any trouble with customs down here in Oz...
As far as I know, every country got a limit when the goods' are customs and tax eligible
Nope. I think the item has be be declared at a good $500+USD, but I'm not sure. Congrats on getting that Saber though, she's impossible to find now.
Thanks, but my father bought it by Amazon for 20,000 yen and I told him to no buy if it was too expensive, but it worth it
In my area of Canada, I get taxed on almost all EMS packages about 15% tax plus 8 $ CAD handling fee. For Airmail or SAL packages, most often I don't get taxed but once in a while I do get a 15% tax + 5$ CAD handling fee. I noticed if the sender is identified as a store like VOLKS or Hobby Link Japan, I have much more chances of getting taxed than if the sender is a person and not a company name.
I live in London, and they'll tax you VAT (17.5%, and rising to 20% soon). Had to pay VAT for my nexus one and some random package my parents sent to me.
Don't really know how you Europeans can stand that insane VAT tax. T_T 1st time I heard about it was when I was still playing WoW and Blizzard had a notice up about Europeans having to pay it on there monthly fee.
it's normally £25 for me ;_;
it's not fair
The USA does not charge customs tax on what they consider "Toys". So all figures/dollfies/anime goods will never get a customs tax. A car coming through will get hit with a customs tax.
Different products have different rules. Also, any item under $200 in value will not get charged customs.
In Poland it's about 20 - 22% VAT of the finally price (ex. some scale figure price worth about 4,000 yen + the shipping price) - Very expensive!! > > Only if I have buy one small items (figma worth about 2,500 yen + the shipping price) I don't have to paid the VAT for it. But I don't know to much about the crazy VAT in Poland.
You have a great father there, make sure that you thanks him for it. ^ ^
Never been hit with customs fee in Australia - though they have gone through my packages from time to time. I do worry though, with all their "Buy Australian" propaganda that one day they will put crazy charges on imports (really would not suprise me with the government we have).
Here in Canada, they tax us like crazy too, and no real rate, they seem to tax us what ever they feel like that day. I've had packages valued and declared at only $150US and had them tax me $50US on it (with service charge.. yes.. they charge us service charge to tax us)
For Singapore, anything declared below SGD400 will not be taxed, that's about USD290. I've never been taxed for figures and CDs I ordered since I usually ordered them slightly below the mark. It's usually my gadgets/electronics that got taxed due to some company refusing to under declare.
No customs fees for Australia. I've ordered plenty of things from a few different countries and have never had to pay anything extra on top of the initial item + shipping cost.
As for France, you'll pay taxes when it is shipped via EMS. With SAL, you might not have any taxes to pay as the package are examined randomly.
Somehow customs are quite heavy in France. It's calculated this way:
<amount on invoice> * 19.6% (real customs) + 18 + <amount on invoice> * 4.50% (customs rights)
In Indonesia, after 50usd (incl Shipping), the item got about 32.5% import tax applied
I'm pretty glad the stuff I bought has not gotten any high custom fees yet... (but that's because some of the bigger figures I bought are bought from local stores) I usually pay 75PHP for the figures I get in the mail. Still, it's quite a hassle to get them from the post office instead of just in your doorstep :<
Well, next to your country, in Chile if you place an order under 2 kg. or less than 200 dollars the custom fee is cero for this kind of products (ex.figurines, dvd or cd's, manga, etc).
Over that, you paid 30% more based in the total amount of your purchase or the declared price of it, very simple but I've been cautious with what I got and I never paid custom fee so far.
In my country, if the value of the package exceeds US$100 you pay 20% custom fees. If the package is small, like the one on your picture and comes from a relative, it usually arrives to your door. On the contrary, if it is big and heavy, it goes to customs inspection and you get nailed.
Ah sos de Peru no?? Te vi en cultere Japan jeje nice collection
just glad I live in the US of A
Argentina sucks the custom fee is 50% of the declarated value :(
