You should pre-order RG RX-78-2 you will like it more than this kit.

Thank you for the suggestion. This may sound a bit out there, but I've only ordered my gunpla models from one place online and I am pretty sure they don't take reservations or pre-orders. Do you have any recommendations for where to pre-order from?

I usually favor one of these two places.
        AmiAmi http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english
        Hobby Search http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/

Unfortunately HS closed reservation for this kit for now so you can't really take advantage of good shipping discount but AmiAmi has the best product discount anyway.

RG is a new grade Bandai is introducing, it's basically a MG/PG in 1/144 scale.

Sweet, thank you very much for the info. I'll have to pre-order it. :)

Another Great place to get info on Gunpla and related merchandise is Ngee Khiong (http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/). Has up-to-date info, and updated several times a day.

Thank you, I am actually familiar with Ngee Khiong, it was in my google reader for sometime, but I recently cleaned it out. I'll make sure to re-add it. Thanks!

Really nice for a first build ! Minus a few nub marks, Id say it looks pretty clean :]

Thank you very much. :) That's the one major thing I need to work on, getting rid of those pesky nub marks.

i prefer this version of the rx-78 over the 2.0 due to it being all liner and has the detail. 2.0 is too curvy for me and having those big goofy hands

On the smaller details and lining just Gundam Markers, no actual paint. :/
