I agree, definitely something I was thinking about, but I refuse to repurchase a console I got rid of over a year ago for one game. :/
Yeah, I was pretty excited that Aksys games brought this over to the states. I figured this was doomed never to sow its face over here.
All these awesome limited boxes coming out in the US and I CAN'T HAS THEM cos I don't live in the US... *GRRRRRRRR*
Not only that, I doubt the game will ever get a european release. We miss out on everything. :(
So Jealous. Europe got shafted again as the US version is region locked just like the jap version so we'll probably never see it this side of the pond.
And Deathsmiles is one of my fave shmups! Heck, I'd buy an arcade stick for this game!! I have to make do with Triggerheart exelica and Espgaluda 2.
I actually only just got Triggerheart today, didn't even know it was on XBLA.
Oh well, I think from the next round of consoles I'll have to start importing them. I'm already going to import a 3DS since apparently that's region locked. I'm just getting fed up of waiting months and months longer than other continents for games, that's if they ever come out here at all.
I doubt that the 3DS will be region locked as no handheld has ever been region locked, except maybe the psp go but that would be mainly due to the structure of the PSN more than anything.
But I'll probably import anyway due to lower cost (for me anyway) and less waiting for a release date. I got my psp from the US purely because it was taking the UK too long to release it and it was cheaper than the RRP.
After this post, I went to ebay and bought it immediately xO

Picked up a copy on my way home tonight too. Awesome game, those last few levels get super crazy frantic. So many bullets you can't figure out whats going on.
