Figure Help~

Ok, so I've decided to purchase a new Scale figure, but I need some help on deciding xD
I was originally intending to buy the Good Smile Company Rin Kagamine 1/8 scale figure. However, I'm now wondering whether I should get the Azusa Alter Figure instead.
I had my heart set on Rin, but now I don't really know. I was about to buy the figure, too.
Do you guys recommend one of them, or have a review on them, or just want to generally tell me which one to get?
Also, where should I buy these figures? Any sites you recommend?

Sounds right! I found a deal for Azusa $100 with free shipping. Is that price reasonable? Found that on ebay.

Though i don't have a single K-On fig at all yet, I'd recommend you get Azusa first. I've gone through the experience of not buying something early until it gets sold out in the market, and paid a huge sum for one in eBay -my saber lily and haruhi gekisou. Kagamine Rin isn't as popular as Miku and Luka so i guess you can wait.

BTW, is it safe to order Azusa from a user in Hong Kong? Or will she be a bootleg? (though I doubt it, since she' new, and I wonder if they bootlegged her already...)
I think it is safe,there is no news on Azuza bootlegs yet so yeah...and alter figures don't really have bootlegs i think.
Great! So, I have $133 to spend. I found this one for $92 with the shipping, and so I guess I'll get the Sega Miku 1/6 scale figure, which I found for $29. That gives a total of $121, which I can afford :)
I think I'll go for that~
AmiAmi has plenty of Azusa in stock and is on sale for 5,450 yen. After shipping I think she'll run around $71.

Was just about to suggest AmiAmi - as a general rule always look for the item on stores like AmiAmi, HobbySearch, HobbyLink Japan, J-List and so on before going to eBay, as there's zero risk of getting a bootleg and the price will usually be lower.

Since you were set on getting Rin, I'd say to keep to your plan.
Until you are confident of being able to watch out for bootlegs, I would advise you not to shop for figures at auction sites. Many figure collectors fall victim to bootlegs when they first started out.
The advertising sites featured in figure.fm are good places to start if you are keen in purchasing figures.
I've found that if you see something on ebay from hong kong/china there's a 90% chance its a bootleg, plus they overcharge by a ton. Normally I'd only trust something from ebay if its from somebody selling their own figure. Go with what the others suggested - check AmiAmi (discounts on almost everything), Hobby Link Japan (HLJ), and HobbySearch.
I always check those three before anywhere else. Add in the fact that their officials stores you know they don't carry any bootleg items so they're very trustworthy and safe.

Rin is well built but a bit lonesome with only herself so I suggest you order Ren too while you're at it^^
Quality wise, get Azunya. However, Rin is really tough to get and you may or may not get a chance to get buy again. Alter has been doing some re-releases as of late as well, but it's really all up to you.

Azunyan!~ ^3^ Like everybody else, consider the top stores like Ami Ami, Hobby Search, HLJ before even thinking about any other site, let alone ebay. If your worried about shipping hobby search has her for 5,780 yen($65USD) and has their %50 off shipping sale going on(buying using paypal) so you shouldn't spend more than $80USD on her ^^

But, I just remembered that on my Anime display merchandise section of my room (I have 2 walls infested with them!) I have a K-On! Pillow and poster with Azunyan, but I have no Rin merchandise T_T
But Azunyan is still capturing my heart! She's my second favorite after Ritsu ^^;
I guess I should get another part time job so I can afford both~ GO ME :'D ahaha

I say buy Azusa... first is because Alter's epic with their figures and since she's just a recent release (IIRC) so you won't have trouble finding her right now. Rin on the other hand, has been released for quite some time, but sure enough, there would be people selling her. K-On! is really popular now so Azusa might be sold out soon enough.
I also have the same problem I don't know if I should buy Azusa o wait till august for Kuromo fro Saki
I dunno Rin can be hard to find compared to Azu-nyan.
