AX Loot~
Basically, part 3 of my AX reporting...
You know, even though I didn't do much, I did get to see majority of the booths (excluding the artists... And from what I've seen, there were really good fan-made arts....) I found out two things:
1: There are definitely figure price inflation (saw Alter Nanoha Striker, with bits, sell for $200, Nendo Marisa for $100, and Nendo Nanoha for $120)
2: You can always find little collectable figures that you can't find, or you didn't know about...
I mean, seriously, I went to AKIBA, and I did not find most of these there (grant it, I was looking at the wrong place but still)... Anyway, I am going to "teach" a strategy that I self developed for this kind of figures.

yes, if you saw my first report on AX Day 2 and Day 3, that red bag was to carry loot... Worked out better than I imagined... Just, I needed to lug it around EVERYWHERE... Shoulders are still sore...

DO NOT DO WHAT I DO. Basically, I threw away the box, and just brought what was inside, b/c the box would just get in my way. I was able to do this because I was doing carry-on (although, my mom brought one back like this in check-in, and on an international flight). But yea, in the end, it saved space, and since it came out safe, I am ok with it.
Trying to get it done with improvements so I can submit it for this competition.

Figma Vita. If you have read some of my previous article, or know me, I prefer Nendo > Figma any day. Why did I buy this one? I am currently trying to "build" a customized HoiHoi san to become Vita. So I sorta wanted a figure of Vita, rather than use a pic of vita off the internet.
Oh yea, any idea as to how to put the hat on for Vita?

So to collectible figures.... The next two were actually marked with what was inside... Sorta wished they just sold the box, and let me pick out... Oh well, at least I got what I wanted...

If you notice, there is excess flash... T_T -I need to get rid of them.... I also didn't have any idea how big this figure is... it's almost as big as a nendo....

Can't believe they had this Kuji system at AX... Got unlucky and pulled this prize instead... Still gorgeous little VF-25 Messiah though...
=P -and it held a camera up for a internet radio show...

Hikikomori Pair of Touhou

For this one, my general strategy was the fact that It's sorta hard to find these figures to begin with, so might as well be lucky with what I get. The good thing was, they are characters I knew, so I would be happy with whatever I got. The bad thing is, I wanted certain figures in here, and some would go good together (Like Reimu and Marisa). My first pull was Kaguya, and my Second pull was Patch (which is one of my favorite character in Touhou).
I would have liked Reimu, Chen, Komachi and maybe Flandre. Box was semi full, and could have combined two previous whole boxes together, so I may have pulled the same thing twice... *shrug* luck?

I love this box... I basically wouldn't mind ANYTHING in this box, other than pulling the same thing again. it also helps that the vendor just opened a new box for it, so that refreshes chances of getting any of the five...

This one had some problems.... This picture was taken after the fix

bent wing

OMG LOOK AT THE BEND!

And the way to fix it is with a handy blow drier. Just use it on low, and heat up the area you need to fix. Then once the plastic is soft, just sorta bend it back in place. Take many steps!

Kagami tsun~ Regardless, this one is a harder box... Since even though I didn't care what I got, I still did want Konata. So the last thing is, just have fun with whatever you get if it's your first try.
At AX, I saw a lot of people give back the collectible figures b/c they didn't like the character, and the vendors sold it again/had it out as an exchange. The whole fun, I would think, regarding this kind of figure purchase is the unknown... Why get stuff that you know you would get....

My greatest loot.... Yes, I DID get the CDs signed.

Originally, it was just going to be Nakajima signing her new album "I Love You". I of course missed that, b/c
a: the AX Staff sorta shooed me away and told me to come back 30min. prior to the signing, and of course, the line was already made 15 min. prior to the signing.
b: Nakajima needed to rest. Seriously, I think she came a bit late, but she signed practically everyone that the staff allowed.
So I knew my last chance was the later signing with May'N, and that one was even more of a mess... Quickly bought her CD at Kinokuniya, and seriously, just stood there and waited amongst other fans for 5 hours or so. The drag of not bringing a buddy... No one to hold your place in line for bathroom breaks (although I didn't need to go) or obtaining food (which was the most concerning thing about this trip... I did not eat at all...) By the way, this CD, track 2 was played at the concert, and track 7 was played as the opening... Sooo glad I was able to get the track 7 (which is Welcome to my fanclub Night ver. May'N), although, I miss that bass at the concert...
T_T -I forgot to wish her luck and fun at Animelo 2010... I fail as a fan...

While in line, I got to talk to a lot of people, and it was really nice just to be able to connect. I also became a person to practice speaking Japanese with. I noticed from this, and finally, that everyone who learns Japanese in the states has the same "accent". So I wonder if this is the English language or the teaching method of Japanese in the states...

Not a loot, but a tool I used... Kangatek, is that shoulder strap bag; think of it as a fanny pack but slug around your shoulder. This bag is pretty awesome, jut don't do what I did, which was sling this and my red bag -basically, it defeated the purpose of using such bags. As well, don't shove everything you can in the bag....
Definitely will use this on another hike or something to store just minor stuff (Ipod, wallet, camera, etc.).
End Note: AX was fun this year, but it felt single tracked... I definitely wanted to see Danny live... Oh well, I'll try to find a way to see him in other means...

Lucky you,I alway wanted Nakabayashi-san to sign my CDs.BTW did u talk to her for a bit???
not really, although I did get the last question at the Nakajima panel. I sorta do wish that I went to the first day, but work and money sorta persuade my decision... I do have an impression that she is easy to approach, although Nakajima is probably easier...
(I didn't know that she was younger than I was as well... T_T -man, I am getting old~)
Wow you bought the May'n and Nakajima cd's. Rich man. I almost bought them. But at $45 each, that was just too rich for my poor mans blood. That would have wiped out my remaining funds. It also would have hurt too since I never got to score Nakajima's autograph. =(
At least I got May'n though. That was all that really truly mattered to me. I will be posting up all my posts soon. For now, I just got home, so ima go get some sleep finally.
yea, the stupid part was I SHOULD have anticipated this and bought the CDs in Japan, where they are slightly cheaper... And they were 41.40 at Kinokuniya~
lucky you, you manage to get both autograph, i failed to get any of them hu hu hu T.T
i was so confuse with the schedules. i should plan ahead before the day of the event next, it's hard to be a first timer. by the way nice loot :D
planning, as well as commitment is important. I also found out that going out of the way and standing your ground is another thing you need in an AX signing (as in, at times, forcing your way to the front)... The last thing you need is luck.
This is the first time I legitimately obtaining an autograph at AX, since last years' autograph of both Mori and Ishiwatari was seriously just LUCK (especially from the guy who gave me his extra ticket).
Ahaha I got this too XD Actually Yaku gave it to me ^^
