In need of some help.

This is who I'm working on making.. I realize, she's nuts.. and a murderer.. So?

I know Saber alter's wig would work.. but I don't feel like dropping 250 plus dollars on one from Yahoo japan. So any help ya'll may have I'd super appreciate it.

Alright, my Dollfie comrades.. And everyone else ^_^

I have myself a small, rather oddball problem that I find I need some help with. cause I've searched a lot of stores on the internet and I can't find the wig I need to pull off a rather insane character. Beatrice from Umineko I don't quite know why I wanna have her for a daughter.. it must be I'm a glutten for punishment and therefore want a truely insane daughter. Or just cause I like her style . I don't know which.

But, I was wondering.. since I've searched as much as I can, do any of you Happen to have? Know where I can find? or any information really pertaining to the hunt for a wig that would look like Beatrice's from Umineko?

All help is appreciated thank you in advance!

She's got this incredibly elaborate outfit and you're worried about the wig? o.o Granted, I may be one of the few people on the planet who thinks making a wig looks like fun, but I still think it's probably going to be one of your smaller hurdles. =P

The third one down on this list might work. It's a little pale, and the hair at the temples are definitely longer, but if you can live with the color being a bit off and potentially having to trim it a little, it might do the trick. http://junkyspot.com/dollzone60wigs.html

That link is a little funky because the site was set up with frames. Here's the main page as well, for good measure: http://junkyspot.com/obindex.html

No! But I wonder if my fascination with her.. isn't some scar surfacing from past relationships with pyschotic women.

Thanks Poofiemus! That wig will prolly actually suite. Forgot all about junky spot, when I was hunting. I was getting a severe headache looking. Yes I realize the dress will be absolutely insane. But, later in the show and in the game she does wear other outfits. So, I'm tripping over the dress. I'll be able to work on that nice and slow.

Oh, so you have options. That's good! On the other hand, if you were to make that dress or commission someone to do it, it would be very impressive. . .The temptation to have that particular outfit wouldn't go away if I were trying to make her!

Actually, JunkySpot was sold out of that wig.. Much to my dismay.

I'm pretty sure, given enough time I could make the dress. Its complex.. Buts why I'm learning how to use a sewing machine.

Hmmm... why not just get a normal straight super long hair wig and braid that yourself. That way you can just find a wig that matches the color. That braiding is not exactly that hard to do. I think the clothing is much harder and complicated than this hair do.

Actually, from what I've been reading about making wigs (mostly on cosplay.com, but the principle is the same), your best bet is probably to get a shoulder-length wig, pull it into a ponytail, cut the ponytail down to a stub, and cover the stub with caulk. Then you'd get hair extensions in a matching color and wrap that around the stub. If her hair is like Saber's from the back, you'd wrap some loose around it, and then wrap that with the braided piece.

I know it sounds complicated, but apparently making that little stub changes how the weight on the mesh is distributed, and greatly improves the lifespan of the wig. After all, unlike real hair, wigs are never supposed to be taken down/let loose, so you want the style to be as sturdy and as perfect as possible.

Mmm.. Actually hers is a full braid wound around and around. But, I'll really have to look into that cosplay.com.. See what I can see.
