I like the indiviual article listings on the left side and the photo article listings on the right. At the top of the page, I think it would look good with Mirai in the top right hand corner and everything else shifted to the left, with the About, Menu and Meow/Profile buttons being in the middle. Also, Mirai, Haruka and Kanata might look better off to one side of the page. That's just my opinion, though.

    Looks good so far ^^

My only irk is how the top story is on top of the orange area, and is lined up right to it's edge. If there were more padding, it could fix it perhaps (http://grab.by/5lTp)

Having a post in that orange area does help a little, because it's the most recent post - so maybe you could highlight that fact somehow.

Or, it does all seem a bit 'trouser-high' at the moment lol It's getting a bit busy up on that orange band in general.

    I'm a bit tired as it is, so this could just be fatigue ^^;

mirai's kinda hard to see in this layout. but having her on the right makes it less scattered nyah :3

I prefer the current header background colour

I like Mirai on the right side as well. Seems to be a bit more visible than in the middle.

Mirai on the right. The middle version "breaks" the header into two columns. The other version is more compact and natural. At least that's what I feel.

    right definitely better
placing the image on the center/left will disturb the text and kinda look messy

I prefer mirai on the right but the main updates on the left - but if we do this them Mirai-chan is covered up.

Those were my thoughts, Mirai on the right would look better if you were used to reading right to left.

      Thinking the same too.

I guess Mirai wouldn't be too invisible once you shifted your icons (twitter, facebook, etc) to the left just like the second mockup.

Why not posting a third mockup like the one your prefer but consider less than ideal 'cause of Mirai?

I like the center version. The main reason is, from an English speaking perspective, when you're reading you read from left to right so some peoples eyes naturally go to the left of the page first and having the mini link/images with the description there is helpful.

My eyes normally behave this way unless I'm reading something like manga which naturally go the the right side in that situation. :)

At first glance I prefer Mirai right but after awhile Mirai center is actually more friendly. Click-able buttons are all at the top right, that's where most people have their tendency to click (explore) at rather the middle area. Also site logo + site mascot stick together = good combi.

Me thinks it is best to have news items down the left side. It is a nice change to have Mirai-chan in the center.

I would like to see a link to a webpage for all the various companies like Amiami so that when we want to go shopping, it would be easy to see them all.

I always preferred the news items on the left. My eyes intuitively go there first. Since not all articles listed get a photo article listing I tend to ignore or skip over when they are on the right.

I like Mirai on the right, but the news list on the left. Layout looks good! It was a little awkward for a while with the empty twitter box, but it looks really nice now.
