OMG! OMG! OMG!
Did you guys hear? They're going to make a LIVE-ACTION movie of Rurouni Kenshin (aka Samurai X)! And it's already in production!
But the good news doesn't end there. This movie will NOT be produced by Hollywood, Originally people from Hollywood offered to produce the movie, but the creator Nobuhiro Watsuki declined.

But wait! There's more. The the lead character, Himura Kenshin will be potrayed by Takeru Satoh.

Only read a bit of rurouni kenshin, so not really a big fan
Can't believe Takeru Satoh will play the main char, don't think it suits him=/ from past dramas I've seen with him in it
Well, I for one believe that the are better actor for the main char. But we'll never know. He could be good or bad.
Yeh, we will just have to wait.
But I guess I'm just not a big fan of him lol
wow! will be looking forward to this. thank you for posting this. :)
I think this is gonna be good or but like many people say live-action movies are no always the same as the manga/anime.hope there is a few more popular actors in it(someone like Kenichi Matsuyama or Tatsuya Fujiwara)
I liked lovely complex and death note live actions. The only ones I've bothered watching and I loved both of them.
Death Note live actions were great. Maybe I just love Erika Toda...
hope they do not butcher it
Knowing that this will not be made by Hollywood, I don't think that you need to worry. Much.
i dont know what am i afraid more, american or japanese film industry, my opinion dont do nothing.
Not produced by Hollywood = already one star better than if it was produced by Hollywood.
I have good hopes for this. Samurai Action Dramas are something japanese live action film makers know really well. So they should have a good idea on to make it awesome.
This is gonna be the most verbose live-action samurai film ever made.
I'm not certain Rurouni Kenshin would adapt well to a live-action movie. It's one thing to animate the swordsmanship feats of the hitokiri battosai, but quite another to do something similar on a live-action movie set.
I can't wait to see this. I really want to see who they get to be Hajime Saitou. He's my favorite character from the series ^_^ I hope it turns out like the live action versions of the Deathnote series.
Its been awhile since Ive seen anything related to Rurouni Kenshin. Last thing I saw I think was reflection (which was really sad btw) Ill have to give this a movie a chance since I loved the series and the OVA's.
best adaptation ever was GTO live action!!!
i wanna see some awesome samurai action for this one.
I really liked the live-action GTO, too. I saw most of the series, but I haven't seen the movie yet.
yeah. the movie pretty much is an extra but also fun to watch.
I dont know if you know already but in real-life, the actor of Onizuka and actress of Fuyutsuki sensei ended up getting married.
Expect Momotaros and Den-O to show up through out the movie
The fact that this movie isn't being made in Hollywood is good news. In my experience, most Japanese live-action adaptations of manga/comics, video games, etc. tend to be better than American ones. Though, the fact that, IMO, a Japanese produced live-action version of Rurouni Kenshin would be better than a American one, that doesn't neccessarily mean it will be good. There's a possibility it will just suck less. But hey, who knows? This could turn out good.
Ok I'm very happy for Nobuhiro's wise decision (let's face it , anything anime related Hollywood touches it's bound to become a piece of crap) but I'm very skeptical for a live action, since not even Japan is safe of making them a total blunder. The anime/manga titles that translate the best into live action are those which lack fighting/magical/fantasy elements, since without a good budget those very elements look atrocious. So I'm a little wary about these announcement, but at the same time super happy RK is getting some revival of sorts (a decent anime adaptation of the last arc would be better in my humble opinion).
. . . where's the poll option for "Reserving judgement until the trailer"? I'm one of those people who won't say what the potential of a film is until I've seen actual footage.
There you go =D
Lol! Thanks, man.
