1. Must be a follower of Akihabaka on twitter
2. Must be a Figure.FM member with more than just a few posts. (I'm flexible XD)
3. Must have your own blog, that you do update at least semi-regularly. (6 months without updates...well...sorry)
4. Must have posted a comment on this thread, relevant to the post, and showing me WHY you LOVE (absolutely ADORE) figures!
5. After you have won said figure, post a quick, brief review on your blog about it!
That is all! In the future, the rules will change again and the prizes will get even better!
ALSO! I took some neat pics of one of my favourite figures. Bunny Haruhi by Daiki!
Company: Daiki
Character/Series: Haruhi from...well if you don't know, you shouldn't be here.
Cost: $610 HKD/ $90 CDN
Bought in HK in brand new condition.
I absolutely love her and her pose, so vibrant and full of life. Really brings the action to life. Not to mention her body is quite lovely if you catch my drift. Here are some photos!

Figures are awesome because they make great photography subjects (especially outdoors). Hence why I've pretty much moved into Dollfies.... XD
Why are figures awesome? Figures are a 3D projection of a 2D anime character (it doesn't have to be anime, or characters even)and what can be more awesome than having your favorite character come to life? They are also another way that can display a person's love for that character or show. I especially love Nendoroids/figmas due to their posability and accuracy of the character they are made to represent (though the figma stands hate me sometimes, but that's not really part of the character, right? XD).
(Doing it for the fun, as I'm not expecting to win after I already won :D)
Figures are brilliantly fantastic because they are literally the closest we'll get to ever meeting 3D real life versions of our favourite characters.(Wish there were more male figures XD & not just from eroge XD I want a Syaoran figure...a Kyon...a Tenjo Night! T-T) The majority of figures are beautifully sculpted and worth the expense that comes with them. I often find myself just gazing at them when I'm meant to be doing something else XD.
nice compo you have here dude... 1 question what of those who do not have a blog?
are all compos from now on gonna require a blog?
If you don't have a blog, do brtter here XD
what if blog'less people make a blog right now? > <;
That's fine as long as you keep it updated. Thewres nothing stopping you from just einning the figure and not continuing to blog, but that eould be completely defeating the purpose of social networking..
okay!~ and i do plan on keeping my blog active.
erm.....let me think why figures are awesome....well when you buy a figure...you're not buying a piece of PVC, when you buy a figure you're buying something special, something you really like/love, something moe. I Think you can show your passion through figures.
The reason I love figures is because I get a physical model of character I know and love (in most cases^^) Their beautiful pieces of art that I as a collector and artist, enjoy. I love scale figures but don't really have the money to buy the better quality or more expensive ones(though I'm in awe when other people have them) so my favorites will have to be nendoroids ^^ I love their cute expressions and their really detailed and small so you can take them pretty much anywhere.
For some reason though, the time I love a figure the most is when I'm taking pictures of them ^^ It feels like I'm one of those pros (though my pictures say other wise ^^') taking pictures of gorgeous models. Capturing every detail the figure makers put into the figure is an awesome feeling for me ^^
I update my blog at least once a week. ^ ^;
Why I love figures? Because figures have given me such joy in life by being cute and absolutely gorgeous. Figures have given me a reason to live and goals to aim for. It's because of figures that I bought a DSLR and it's because of figures that I have a blog and met many comrades. :)
うん、おっぱいですね。うん。 >:3
email meeeee Flawless-san...XD
Right, right. ^ ^;
I collect anime figures not only because they are lovely, but to express my love for the animes/characters I like. In addition to that, anime figures makes a good decoration for my room~
...I don't want to be be redundant so...
I love figures scientific and health benefits. You see, figures emit a special type of radiation of awesomeness that enters your body and travels up your nerves, ultimately reaching the brain and pulls on sensors which allows a sensation of pleasure and epicness to be released in to your system.
...>_> in other words they are either too damn cute or frickin awesome. Zats why I adore them. yes.
I originally got into figures as merchandise, a way of showing my love for certain characters and anime. I still mostly only get figures of characters I know and love (Rin is easily in that category!), but now I've come to appreciate figures for their own sake as well. The best figures are works of art - sculptures - so I also see my figure collection as something that anyone should be able to enjoy for the craftsmanship on display.
I'm following you on Twitter as @slowdescent and my blog lives at autaku.com. ^^
Also: I love the detailing on Haruhi's guitar! The screws on the pick guard and pickups are great touches that aren't always included on figure guitars.
(I was going to add these as image notes but I'm on my phone. ^^;)
The ultimate form of worship, adoration and showing of passion. That, is a figure. The figures I buy are only of characters I know, and love. That said, figures are NOT cheap, going anywhere from $30 up to $250. (Mine at least) I first started collecting with I met a friend that had a single Mizuho (Onegai Teacher) Figure. I was captivated. I was already an anime freak at the time, but I had not collected any figures. At house one night, we had a party, playing games, drinking, watching movies, drinking, conversing, and drinking. I got pretty buzzed, being a light drinker...I went on eBay and purchased a resin Yamato Figure of Simca. $250~...What was I thinking, some people asked me. That was 3 years ago. I have not regretted it. My only regret is that I got scammed on by Paypal....but thats another story. In any case, thats my story. :)
Hmm... Figures are great because they make me feel as i get to "possess a copy of" my favorite anime characters personally. That simple. It's like "I like that girl, i want her to be my girlfriend". Hmm... I still lack 1 final thing - i don't have a twitter account yet... >.< Muz register...
registered and followed... :)
I never had much luck but I'm gonna try anyway.
I love figures cause they are the second highest level a fan go to obtain a 3D representation of his favourite characters. Whats more a beautifully craftyed figure has the ability to convey so much more like the texture of the character's fabric, expression etc. If a Picture conveys a million words, a figure conveys many more times that amount! ^-^
Figures represent the characters you love and adore (or then you wouldn't get one). Limited in release, it also shows your devotion into collecting rare figures.
