MG Astray Red Frame WIP!

Posted by zero_four

Hey guys, this would be my first Gunpla.

My apologies if my work is not up to par compared to the masters here coz i'm still
trying to grasp the techniques and skills necessary in order to be a good gunpla
modeller.

I spent countless hours watching Youtube vids and reading articles. Finally, I had
the guts to start building and painting my Red Frame kit. Got the inspiration and idea
from demonbell's Blue Frame and cmos' Sinanju.

Comments are more than welcome, thanks a lot!

Although I'm not really a fan of extra finish, I can say that it looks great! Even coat, nice colors; just hope it doesn't scratch before the top coat! I look forward to the final product.

Most people here can't be considered masters. ^ ^; From what I see alot of members here tend to be more casual.

Great work for your 1st gunpla!

Nice spray painting you got there. There are lot here who already built that one, you can get some ideas what would be the best for your 1st gunpla. :)

gee thanks.! it's a good thing we pick up from everybody else's work then give it our own personal touch.. at the rate you're going this will turn out really badass considering its your first build.. when i did my first kits i didn't even know gundam markers existed.. just don't rush it, you might break something somewhere.;)

The problem with my Red Frame is the Red gets scraped off a bit whenever it hits another part! That's why I had to apply a topcoat! Did you experience that problem too?

Yup bro... I have that problem too. I had to touch up the scraped bits everytime with left over spraypaint... but applied using a brush... heh.

Now I know why your kit is shinier and glossier than mine, the MrHobby Super Clear is killing the shine off my kit, plus I think you've got a better cam too hehe, thanks man! Your Sinanju is the best on the net, hands down!

I'm using an ol' beat up Lumix point and shoot... heh. The topcoat will definitely help 'preserve' your astray better, so don't worry ;) Er... my Sinanju pales in comparison compared to other masters in Figure.fm... u really need to check out MatX's Grim Impaler and mtomczek's amazing finish on his... those are amazing. Btw... I have a blue frame which I'm gonna assemble soon... really want to try borrow your color scheme... I like the way you did the silver bits... ;)
