DCosplayer - 01
Taking advantage of all the passion and motivation I got pumped with after four crazy, unforgettable days at AX, I'll take this opportunity to start a
series of posts featuring Mirai, Haruka or Kanata cosplaying anime, manga or game characters from iconic series: DCosplayer posts! (...yeah... not very original lol). The idea is to give the anime/manga costumes a flavour of their own, so the cosplays are not an exact copy of the character/series which should make things more interesting.
First of all is of course Mirai-chan, dressed up as a vocaloid and signed by her father himself! I thought the timing was appropriate since I decided at the very last minute to ink and paint a drawing to give to Danny in the AX meeting (he was so patient and nice to everyone! if it was me I would've faked my death after ten minutes lol He really goes at it like a trooper). Anyways here she is cosplaying as a vocaloid, her own made up version of course. I had a lot of fun with this, and also had fun with my comrade Lightinsabre talking over how to improve some things. Kudos to him for the headphones (or whatever those are called) since he pointed out they could be changed for the better (original didn't look good at all). Later I realized that her nails weren't painted! and that was the version Danny got! aaahh! D: (at least that was fixed, so...) and her hair is supposed to be a couple of shades lighter but I rather focus on the next drawing ahahahaha (no it's not being lazy... *avoids stares*).
For the next one I was thinking of a 90's anime, so please look forward to it!

WOOTAGE! She's up! ^^ The headphones really look cool. You did a good job on them :D Great shading on the hair too!
Thank you so much, they do look better more round ^^
Very nice! :) Can I ask for advice on LA?
Thank you very much ^^ erm... advice about drawing while being in LA? or about LA? lol
About visiting places in LA. :) I know this is very much unrelated to your post but is it possible to see these LA spots just in one day - Hollywood Blvd (Madame Tussaud's+Walk of Fame+Chinese Theater), Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Little Tokyo and Griffith Observatory? Sorry for bothering you about this.
Thank goodness because I wouldn't know what to say for drawing ^^U
It's no bother at all! from my experience, you won't be able to visit all these places and enjoy them properly, mostly because it takes a while to get from one point to each other. Little Tokyo it's very small so it can be squeezed in one day with another place, for example, but I suggest you staying a couple more days. I hope you like LA, I know I do ^^
I'll take the advice about drawing please ^^
Oh boy... There's nothing special about it; when I first started I just copied my favourite artists. At the time the first manga I had available in a regular basis was Ranma 1/2, so I imitated Rumiko Takahashi quite a lot. Then I moved on to other styles. I also got some how-to books about proportions and the human body and just practiced those.
It's all about drawing like a possessed maniac. You should have a healthy stack of drawn paper all solely for sketching. Keep on drawing like crazy, and eventually you're style will be awesome.
thx~
I like, I like! Looking forward to more posts from you.
Thank you for your kind words, I'll try my best to keep it regular.
Was great meeting you at AX and thanks for the artwork!
Thank you very much for the autograph -^__^- please look forward to more to come, I'll do my best.
wish I could get the MikuMikuDance PWD editor to work... would be fun to make an MMD model of her based on this...
Ooooh! That'd be awesome! Hope you can make it work :)
Problem is, it just crashes on my system. MMD works, just the PWD editor won't.. :(
Agh >_< That sucks...
That would be great, although I think I could've made her cosplay more awesome ^^;
