Drossel light upgrades

Posted by kodomut [www]

The original version of my lights was actually a really rough prototype but many comments were given and I decided to upgrade the whole circuitry into a neater and more compact one!

Thanks all for ze support! Here's what I did and some random fun pictures I took!

This was why wires was a baddddd idea.

And thus Drossel decides to take some extreme action in controlling Rin....

By using her G * * * s !

I reverted back to white lights, because it looked more true to the animation!

So anyway I decided to use a CR2032 3V power supply. Same ones you use on a Mac Mini.

What to connect the batt holder with?

This of cos! It not like Drossel needs her stand!

Trim the original power cord!

Wire it up with a switch and we are all set!

Look ma, no wires!

    Very nice! I'm assuming that the reason you sheared off the figma stand peg is so it'll neatly go into her back? You could also use a piece of a Gunpla tree if you have it; I've found that those pieces will usually fit snugly into a figma's stand hole, just so you don't have to ruin the stand ^^;

    I guess with di:stage coming out next week with the 'claw grip' hand, that won't be too much of a problem in the future, eh? ^^ Does the backpack come with a switch in which to conserve the battery life?

      Yeah... Me thinks so as well... The rubbery PVC extra pieces from the polycaps department will usually do the trick as they're softer...

    Did Drossel's eye pop off when she's using her G * * * s?
    That's so cool... just how did you have so many colours?

      The original colors I used were blue remember? I took them out but before I did, I put a red one back in and took that shot because the red and blue effect looked good.

      After that I placed white in permanently ^^

      There are multicolored LEDs though, if you are interested!

    Wow! It becomes a backpack! Now if only you could empty out the core of her body and put the battery in there... LoL kidding XD

    Very nice G***s effect! She can only use it once on Rin though XD

    Get some styrene plastic and make a backpack/weapons pack in white to hide the battery and match her styling, that would look the bomb!
    Nice work using the battery holder.

        I like this idea! I mean...you're this far already, kodomut...which not take the extra step? ^^;

        This looks wonderful, by the way. Good job. And while Drossel definitely doesn't need a stand...I still bow to your nerve. x_x

    It looks like mobile pack have its own weakness.
    It seems that the light's weaker with the mobile pack than the one connected to the electricity source...
    Also, I was wondering...
    Does the wires didn't disturb Drossel's head movements?

      Lower current rating.

      Wires no effect on flexibility.
