My first post on this website so my apologize on first place if i made some mistake.
Finished this old kit from Bandai recently and it is pretty nice kit for its transformability , too bad i don't have proper tool to work on this kit and some noticeable seamlines.
Definitely This kit is not meant for beginners since plenty of tools is required and for the detail of the review is in My Blog

Comparison with 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1J

This old toy-model kit was a good alternative for Macross fans in the 80's. It was very accurate with nice proportions, a pilot figure and metal landing gear. Most important, it was not as expensive as the other Bandai Macross toys. Now, Yamato 1/60 VF-1S with CAD technology design changed the concept of perfect transformable Valkyrie.
Yamato toys are very nice... except for the exploding shoulders found in the early versions of their :60 scale toys :) .
I think that given the age of the kit and the engineering available to Bandai at that time, you put in a good effort at building it. I hope one day Hasegawa releases a Gerwalk kit.
Wave released scaled kits of the VF-1 line; if I recall, you need to buy the Battroid and Valkyrie modes, then connect them together to make the Gerwalk.
