Stereogram Experiments

Posted by Aya Kyunik [www]

Hiyo,

Today, my blog's latest entry is Stereogram Experiments!
I accidentally took a few photos which were a little distance apart during Sakura and Arturia's photoshoot which seemed to work well in stereoscopic vision, so I tried taking a photo of a figure (Miki Hoshii in this case) to see if I can achieve the same result~

Check the blog out for my lil technique and other things :3

Try using your whole hand, upright and edge-on. cross your eyes 'till you see three images and focus/concentrate on the middle image...

It's like a magiceye pic. If you can't see those, you may have a hard time seeing these.

    Yep, it's working. Awesome!

So I take it you took two pics with slightly different angle?

Correct~ But getting the right angle is a little tricky, then I gotta deal with things like lense distortion >.<

I couldn't see the first one, but I sorta saw the second one tho. I think if they were a bit smaller, I probably could see them even better.

You can save the images down, then open them up with your favourite image viewer that allows you to resize the images. I find it easier with a small picture by resizing it, or by moving further away from the monitor.

What you can do is make a 2 frame animation of both pictures (very easy to do in photoshop and stuff). That way, people don't have to try to cross their eyes, they can just see it immediately.

A 2 frame animation wouldn't give a full 3D effect. If you're able to see these images perfectly, it's as if the Idolmaster Girl is pointing on you.

Like Gon said, it wouldn't really work properly =/
Having a 2 frame animation will create a weird strobing effect between the two pics. Each eye won't know which picture to focus on either, breaking the 3D illusion as the brain translates the animation as simple an animation rather than a balanced parallax.

That's very cool... I've developed the skill of being able to get a sharp focus with my eyes even if I'm viewing through crossed eyed, so Stereograms are a HUGE treat for me. ^____^

Thank you so so so much! I've wanted a Dollfie of my own for months now, and seeing the Stereogram of Saber and Sakura made me feel like there's really a Dollfie in front of me! ^____^
