Natural light shot attempt

Posted by Zwei [www]

Okay, last time I was showing the pics of Xan in a 'recycled' studio, quite satisfied by how some of the shots turns out.
But still, I'm not really satisfied yet, and tries to take a noon-light shots, since I'm also curious how people could get such a brilliant colors throught their lights.
Also, since I don't know the limit of how many pics that I could upload, I'll give it a try to put as much as I could(not that much, of course ><)
This'll be a twice-posting, I guess....
So here it is, some random shots that I took on the midday yesterday~

The light is so different...
It's hard ot get it clear without an SLR...
Xan calls out SGGL because it's been getting dangerous....

And SGGL don't want to return yet, as he said he's strong.
But Xan saying about dangerous is actually....

... The heat that SGGL gets.
In one of my case, especially Lazengann, an exposure to heat could cause a trouble to the paint.
Lucky that SGGL is a new series with a different paint, so he didn't get any trouble.

Xan : In Lazengann, the paint didn't went off, but it turned out into a sticky surface caused by the paint. And every dust that laid on Lazengann became so hard to be cleaned. Warm water needed.

Xan : Outdoor photographers, please be cautious~!

... Does this pose reminds you to someone?^^

SGGL : ... Can I get up now...?

    If the sun is high on its apex and the light is quite bright, such hard shadows can be hard to avoid with the light coming in at that angle. A nice tip is to try and use a reflector board to reflect some of the sunlight back at a different angle onto the figure.

    A reflector board for that use outdoors doesn't need to be very elaborate or expensive. A sturdy sheet of white paper or a cardboard square with white paper or some aluminum foil taped to it can do the trick.

      Well, I mentioned there it was pretty hot under the sun that time.
      I usually can hold normal heat for some minutes under the sun, but this one quickly gave me a burn in seconds ><
      The SGGL also got pretty extremely 'warm' when I hold him.
      So since there was a tent that's still standing out there, I take shots while hiding from it.
      Bright and heated, and then taking the pic in the shadows without a reflector would bring a pretty dark one like so ^^;

    You need reflector or wait the sun position into lower angle. Outdoor shoot supposed not that dark )

      If I could get the sun when it's on the lower angle, I'd take it when it is,, but my house, especially in that part, the little garden, is surrounded by walls that's tall enough to block the sunset ><
      Also, if I wait until the sun's lower, I'd get a darker pic, since the pic with Xan kneeling is the north, a little bit to the east ^^;

    You could also use a flash to "fill" in the shadow parts, although a reflector is simple enough. ( as mentioned by Smithy)
