Weathered MG RX-178

Posted by Arein [www]

My first ever Master Grade gunpla.. Boy am I amazed of it's engineering (I'd probably be blown away by a PG). Weathering this is kind of accidental since I was only panel lining and kind of messed up ^^; Decided to weather the whole kit altogether..

P.S. It looks rough in the pictures but that's not the case IRL or when you run your thumb through it..

Any comments, suggestions, constructive criticism is appreciated..

    The surface looks a little too rough... Nice weathering underneath tho...

    Nice job on your first MG!

    If I were to comment on your weathering...some parts have more weathering than other, making it not even. From the pictures, it looks like you're trying to weather the edges, but the effect is too thick.

      It's supposed to be uneven, since when does rust have to be even ^^;

        Erm...what I meant is, some parts have more rust while some has less rust. Like, top shoulders have less rust, thighs more rust, lower leg less rust, right arm more rust than the left... and so on. ^^

          I know what you meant.. The rust is intentionally uneven.

    The weathering really works! I take that this is postshading?

    It looks as if it's been stuck in a warehouse for a few months - nice job
    It would be interesting to see the effect of more weathering on the vents/flaps/gaps/exhaust/whachamacallitz

    Sweet work. Very nice job with the rusting, though it would also be interesting if only a set number of parts (joints, cracks etc.) have a lot of rust, while the bigger - more wide open ones have next to none^_^

    I don't really know if what I am speaking of makes any sence, as I am not much of a gunpla man myself, but just throwing teh idea out there~

      Which bigger parts are you referring to?
