Nendoroid Yoshika stand upgrade
Recently acquired Nendo Yoshika and she's just a sweet little thing. However her stand, despite it being pretty awesome, was a little stiff and I couldn't do certain flying moves or turn her in certain angles. I'm sure fellow Yoshika owners here would understand me!
With that, I decided to provide her stands with some much needed upgrades!

This is how the original stand looks like. Huge base with very nice embossed logos on it. It comes with 3 types of holders to achieve different poses including flight mode. It lacks flexibility though.

Using my un-used Drossel stand which I made unless from my Drossel backpack upgrades, I decided that it would be the best replacement to that inflexible Yoshika stand.

The idea was simple. Since I did not use Rin's stand because her twintails are just awesome. I decided to connect her base connector to the tip of the figma stand.

Viola! Success with the help of very super superglue!

Stand is strong and very stable as you can see!

However the base of the stand was still the figma one and Yoshika isn't a figma so we had to do something about it.
Sawed off the figma base connector since it was too small and attached a thicker nendo connector.

Looking like that in the end!

Now Yoshika can fly freely !

Very cool ... but won't the superglue get weak over time, and then she'll fall off and maybe break? o_0
My Drossel came with a broken twintail when she arrived long ago. The twintail connector hasn't broken yet despite my very rough handling; which is why it's called SUPERglue!
Well.. the problem.. is Superglue will evantually break down, but! if its a very small area.. and there is almost no air penetration in the joint itself.. it'll take years for it to break down.
Very creative use of a chopped and useless figma stand, good job!
You really have the guts to mutilate your belongings... I'll have a heart attack if I ever do that to my lovely figures... ^^;
No figures were mutilated, only stands!
A stand is still part of the entire package...not the figure itself, but, well... ^^; Depends on how you look at it, I suppose. I wouldn't dream of messing with my figs, *might* if it were the stands, but I'd have to be pretty confident of what I'm doing.
WHEEEE~~~~FLY!!!!
awesome job ◔ヮ◔
^^; nice concept!
nice!
Karas stand is metal... and the base is big black round plastic... dunno if I ever need a flying karas though XD
Wait, so Yoshika's stand can grasp her firmly and not just for placing Yoshika on top of it?
There is an GRASP-HER-ASS firmly holder out of the 3 holders provided, but it can only display her vertically and not in any horizontal position.
Awesome!
It seems like you have your own 'lab' there ^^;
It seems you're having alot of fun with your nendos, I should probably get some for the mecha Revos~
But that have to wait, the figma budget's almost done, and can't afford to lost a budget again(I have a Revoltech Xan which need almost two budget D:)...
So next time when I'm going to take a new one, I might need to ask you what should I take for a first ^^
Very crafty. Brave enough to mess with your figs.
Comfort zones are supposed to be smashed down!
The many wonderful uses of superglue... that reminds me, I need to pick up a new bottle. Just wondering... do you encounter balancing issues? The nendoroid Yoshika base covers a small surface area so if you position Yoshika away from the centre, it might tip over. Perhaps strapping some weights under the base can help if such an incident occurs.
